I received this as a gift and despite the fact that I have more cookery books at home than I know what to do with I have made good use of this one. The recipes are easy to follow and are illustrated, which I find helpful as I like to know what I'm aiming for. I thoroughly recommend the oven baked soy marinated cod (I make this regularly now) and also the Wok-It Chinese Chicken salad. I actually find it a shame that they have included the words 'low fat' into the cover - this will probably lead some people to assume the recipes are tasteless, which they certainly are not! Even if you are not on a diet you will enjoy creating the recipes in this book and I defy you not to find one you will want to make again!

If your looking for inspiration for 'party puddings' this is the book for you! Well illustrated,as are all Dorling Kindersley publications.Clear well laid out instructions and excellent photographs of the finished product. Ideal for the novice or the experienced cook.Already a favourite on my bookshelf!

Writing your autography in terms of the food you ate is a neat idea, and it was great to read about so many different types of food I remmeber from my youth. The book is a little inconsistent though: in the middle section the food takes a back seat to the goings on in his family life. Also, the book got weirder towards the end, as though he was running out of steam. He tantalises us with brief glimpses of his love life and then leaves us wondering. And the book ends very abruptl

At first, the new method may seem a bit complicated but it's definitely not! On the contrary, it helped me understand how to combine foods and then eat more and a greater variety of foods! Antony Worrall Thompson's recipes are delicious, easy to prepare and adapted to the whole family. I have already lost 5 kilos in a month and I have never feel deprived!!! That is just a miracle!

This is an excellent book with easy to prepare food, all of which have instructions on how to prepare ahead. I have an Aga, which Mary Berry excels in, but the book is written for anyone with any kind of cooker. Well worth having. I've borrowed a friend's copy, used many recipes, all delicious, and now I have to get my own!

This book is fantastic, I can not fault it one bit. Hugh and Fizz create a world where it is easy and fun to cook home made produce. My friends are often asking me how I know how to make so many good things, and its all in this cook book! Home made pasta, Who else actually does that anymore? Yet its easy and simple to do, all kinds of home made breads, cakes, its just brilliant!

Delia knows her cooking, however, she hasn't researched vegetarianism properly. She is using parmesan. All vegetarians know that parmesan is not vegetarian, so she should mention to use the substitute cheese. It is misleading new vegetarians into thinking parmesan is ok. That's why only 2 stars. If one reads the recipes carefully and alter it accordingly then there are some very nice new ideas in this book..

A very ordinary collection of average recipes. Contains a few classics but nothing to inspire. I bought Gordon Ramseys pudding book at the same time and it knocks the spots of this.

This is a fantatstic book and saved the day when we bought an old house and inherited a 16-year old AGA. I was petrified of it at first but once I read through this book I was able to get going straight away. The book falls roughly into 3 parts. The first tells you all about AGAs - the different sorts you can get, a little bit of history and some of the other things you can do with an AGA (other than cooking!). The next section explains about the equipment you'll need and arrangements for servicing, with the final section covering recipes and techniques. I was expecting some really dull, stodgy recipes but I got it totally wrong. The recipes range from the traditional game casseroles through to risottos and pasta dishes. Just Desserts, is written by the accomplished and talented three Michelin star chef Gordon Ramsey. As the name suggests, it's a cook book filled with recipes for the best part of a meal - - desserts. It is the first book written by Gordon Ramsay I've ever purchased, and if his other books are as impressive as this one, then I guess I'll be buying the whole lot. While it's not the single best cook book I've ever seen, it is definitely the best dessert book and puts all others to shame.
