This beautiful book contains over twenty displays of sugar orchids - sprays for cakes, plants displayed in pots, a bridal bouquet, floral arrangements. Each display contains step-by-step details for making not only the orchids but also the flowers and foliage that accompany them, from the exotic to the well-known, often little-used such as sage and silver birch! These flowers can all be made in sugar or in cold porcelain. There are templates of all the cutters used in these displays. An excellent book for all sugarcrafters.

I would recommend this book to anyone, especially anyone who has ever visited the real buttercup bakery. On a trip to New York I visited the bakery every day - those cupcakes are good! Although I have not yet tried to make any of the recipes, they are well explained and many are quite simple, unlike some books whose recipes always require about 50 ingredients! There is a section of colour photos of some products, and although most recipes do not have a picture, the name and little comment for each are pretty self explanatory. When buying this book, I was torn between this and the original buttercup cookbook, but this became an obvious choice when I discovered the original had no cupcake recipes! SO.. I have allways loved the buttercups bake shop.. but I really wanted to eat whatever it is on the cover of this book. I allways find it really dissappointing when there is a pretty picture on the cover but no recipe to follow the picture. I find it misleading. For anyone who bought this for the pretty cupcakes on the cover.. think again.. look for another.. Though it does have the recipe for red velvet frosting.. Nothing on how to make buttercream :(... All in all its not what I was looking for.. I will buy the others in search of that cupcake recipe.
