Would reccomend this unit to anyone with condensation problems have had mine a couple of weeks now we live in a two bedroom flat the condensation was a big problem not anymore all the windows are dry where before I was always having to mop up the excess water and that was only one of the problems we had. Dont be afraid of buying this I kid you not it really does work simple to operate as well.

I have owned a DEC10 model for 3 years & have experienced no problems at all. However due to the layout of my home I needed something bigger. The DEC14 has been perfect so far & is very efficient. Its much better in a room with laundry than the smaller model due to its extraction. It cuts the drying time considerably. I use the 10 for the bedrooms & the 14 near the bathroom & when drying laundry. I highly recommend this product for anyone with a 2 bed flat especially over the winter months. I haven't had any condensation on my windows. I have noticed the 14 is slightly more noisy than the 10, also the 14 works better in lower temperatures than my 10.

This does make a difference to the room and freshens it up but it is quite loud, like a big fan on setting two or three, and it definatley makes me thirsty.

This is a strange one. What I mean is, that it did it's job as described but..... Funny thing is, it appeared to "leak" as around it's base after a couple days was a little "water" with the container itself approximately a fifth full. I thought that maybe it had a tiny crack in the plastic body, but after close and detailed examination none could be found so ended up seating it on a folded kitchen towel/tissue. If you have a few quid, I would rather suggest "Rechargeable Dehumidifier: Twin Pack" from the Garden & Outdoors section here on Amazon for under £20 than this for £5. Summary: it does work, but place it with some care regarding what is immediately next to it.

I was happy with this dehumidifier at first. It worked well although it is a little noisy. Then it stopped humidifying. Sometimes it would start, the compressor would shake and it would cut out. There is no after sales service from DeLonghi. They refer you to another organisation who do not reply and then when you eventually get them they do not cover your area. Found a local man who repairs such items but he could not find out what was wrong. So I accept things fail but when you can't get them repaired it is really frustrating and expensive. So I am now looking for a new dehumidifier from another manufacturer with proper aftersales!

If I number the cons vs the pros, it's tempting to actually give this 3 stars rather than 4. But the bottom line is that it's core function of getting moisture out of the air is performed well. My wife and I previously had the DNC60, which we prefer the look of. We stick with these non-compressor models because they are less hassle to reposition and also have the ionizer/negative ions functionality built in. This DNC65 model vs it's predecessor..... CONs:- Noisier. None of these things are whisper quiet (sales sphincter talk) unless coasting in "fan-only mode" maybe, but this one seems to be less quiet than usual. Uglier. I bought this item for use after my baby, but have used it myself prior for several nights during a severe cold. I have to say that I found the effects of using this machine very effective. I normally have extreme difficulty sleeping with blocked sinuses, but this product allowed me some excellent nights sleep. Although the product is definitely not silent, I can't say it kept me awake. It has auto switch off, so can be left on through the night and have done so myself. One tank full of water lasts approx 12 hours, so continues to provide relief right through the night without refilling.
