This iron has the features I wanted and some I didn't know I wanted. My last iron was heavy and I liked it, not having to press down. The bottom of this one is coated to make it glide easily which was not true with earlier irons. The turbo steam is really fierce which I think is a good thing. The ultracord seemed like a gimmick, but isn't - the cord doesn't bang my wrist and if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have to use it. The iron heats quickly, the cord is extra long, it's easy to fill and the base is very steady. I can't fault it.

I bought this iron about six months ago and it has worked perfectly since day one. The range of steam settings offers good incremental positions and the no steam setting can be selected with one small movement of the slide. The shape of the face plate seems to suit my shirt size(16)and I think my shirts have never looked better. I iron my shirts box flat when travelling for business or when I have limited space and a work colleague has now asked me three times if my shirt was new! The water reservoir is a bit small and does need refilling fairly frequently otherwise I would have given this 5 stars.

I have had my Phillips GC8220 Steam System Iron for almost a year now. It was brilliant for the first few months or so but I noticed that the water tank was leaking. It started as a trickle and evenually the leak soaked through a well folded towel in next to no time. In my despair I sealed all the joints with stong adhesive glue. It did the trick and I am back ironing as happily as ever. Apart from the leak it does the job of ironing really well.

Bosch Sensixx TDA8353 Steam Iron Comfort Secure 2400W This is the best iron I've ever used and I've been through a few! It makes my most hated chore easy. The free speedy delivery from Amazon was superb too. A VERY happy customer!

As my wife says, "It's Fantastic, every woman (or person who does the ironing) should have one!" Of course you could say that about any steam generator iron and incase you don't know the advantages of one here they are:- 1. The iron itself is much lighter than a conventional iron as the water and heating elements are elseware so it's much easier on the wrists. 2. It considerably shortens the time taken to do your ironing, because the steam power guarantees you only needing to iron one side, often with only one pass. 3. I bought this gadget after the reviews. sincerely its a good thing. its small and compact suitable for travelers. its got a voltage selector that even if u travel to countries that use 120V u still be able to use it by changing the voltage selector from 220V to 120V.i think its cheap and i recommend those who travel frequently to buy it.

Quick heat up time, 2 minutes. Easy to refill without having to turn off. You just pull the tank out. Irons like a dream, I now sail through my husbands shirts and trousers. However I did send my first one back because it leaked but the replacement has been fine. Highly recommended. Excellent value for money

We bought this iron as a replacement for our "Which? Best Buy" Tefal steam generator. That lasted just a couple of years before its cord covering frayed badly, a fault we put up with for a further two years. At £50.00 to repair we thought it wasn't worthwhile even though it had been an excellent iron in other ways. Yet, as good as the Tefal was, this Philips surpasses it in every detail but one - the Tefal had a better cord storage system that worked well (a small detail). The Philips is light (so much lighter than a standard steam iron), it's powerful (much better than the excellent Tefal even) and it's very compact for such a powerful device.
