Great all round blender, a little noisy but in terms of looks and build quality it's excellent. No problems so far

Great machine. Bought as a present for someone who was more than particular about what a smoothie maker should do like juice... dance, sing etc... Spent hours looking at comments from others and ended getting this but was more than worried it would be a flop event though it had good reviews... Turns out reviews were spot on! I bought this solely for the use of chopping up fruit and veg for my 9 month old daughter and i must say it works a treat! You are only able to fill the bowl half way with fruit/veg etc which is a little irritating but the size of the appliance is great for just tucking away in the cupboard when im done. When you want to chop however you cant do one long chopping session you have to do it in bits.You also must let the machine "rest",if it goes on too long then it stops chopping. I wouldnt recommend this product if you have alot of chopping to do as it does take time. But for jobs such as making my babys food its awesome.

This is the worst blender I have ever owned. After about 2 weeks it started to leak through the bottom and all over the counter. Also cleaning it was a real pain. You have to take the whole thing apart which is a real drag. Do yourself a favour and don't buy this product. I will never buy another blender that has a pourer. All it adds is extra things to break and clean. At the end of the day who cares which part of the blender you pour from...

After only half a dozen uses, this blender just died outright, emitting a little blue spark inside and then completely dead. Changed fuses with no effect. This blender was then returned and a new one was sent out with no problems - however, within the first few tries, this blender encountered exactly the same problem. The electricals blew resulted in a second dead blender. Both times it had blown, the jug was not even half full of soup. This time I returned it to Kenwood with a detailed description of what had happened (twice!). After chasing the matter up with them, they had an engineer take a look at it, claiming it was working fine and returned it to me. Of course when I plugged it in, it was dead as a doornail. Firstly this product did not crush the ice at all and that is why I bought it to crush ice, it just kept swirling it round the jug. Secondly on using it for about the 5th time, I put some soup in it to blend and the glass jug just cracked. Couldn't believe it as my old one blended my soups perfectly and I only changed it because I wanted the look of the stainless steel and my last one was white. Also everytime you put hot liquid in it the lid kept coming off and spraying the hot liquid everywhere so you would need to have your hand on the top. This is a bad product.

The one star awarded is because it worked well for 3 weeks. After this, a vital part broke in half (tap retaining ring). I contacted R-H Customer (appalling)Service Dept to get a replacement part under warranty. This company's mantra is 'the customer is always wrong'. I was told that this part did not exist, although it was clearly shown on the user manual. I then sent the broken piece as evidence, and in a week, received a part back that does not even belong to that machine at all. I have since fashioned a locking ring from a brass threaded plumbing part, by machining it to fit.I seriously recommend that clients do not purchase this item unless they are competent DIY engineers. As for the'Customer Service Dept' - forget it - they are nothing less than a disgrace.

This is, in all, a nice blender - well designed, looks good, and works fine. Only 3 stars instead of 4/5 because the motor isn't the most powerful - it struggles with more demanding tasks, such as chopping raw vegetables. But perfect if you want to use it to blend soups, soft fruits etc. If you want something more versatile, go for a more poweful model....
