I was pleased with the collander. Nice styling, with a shape to match many of the products in the 'Nigella' range. We added one to our wedding list. After about four months, I noticed it has begun to rust. Washing and drying it ASAP helps... but the edges where the collander is folded over the wire handle trap moisture. The brown stain of the rust is spreading from there. I don't know if it's very hygenic to use anymore.

I guess there's not too much difference between one sieve and another in terms of how well it sieves things! However, this sieve seems to be of a much higher standard than my other sieves. Most sieves are just tinned metal so they stain/discolour very quickly and eventually start to rust. This sieve is made from stainless steel and is even dishwasher proof so I'd expect it to give many years of service and stay in good condition much longer. The soft touch handle gives a much better grip and is more comfortable to hold than those traditional sieves which have bare metal grips instead of proper handles. If you're straining thick liquids like sauces/soups, it can be quite heavy so a nice well-balanced handle is important. ... Read More:
