Yes, it's great that it turns on automatically when it detects motion but why oh why could Philips not gone the extra yard and made it disable itself when it's not dark??? It comes on all day long regardless of the ambient light and wastes the batteries!

I tried one of these first and then got hooked so now all my bulbs have been replaced by these. They are generically known as bio-bulbs. The cheapest I found in the UK was around £13 each while Androv charge £8.95. They really are a stark contrast to dirty reddish light you get from normal and low energy bulbs. I have ordered 3 times from Androv because a few friends also wanted some and each time delivery from Germany has been brilliant...arriving in 3 working days. One of the bulbs was faulty and I emailed Androv. They were very friendly and sent a free replacement without asking for the faulty one to be returned. Service and product are both excellent. No complaints.

I have just received two Philips Energy Saver bulbs as a 'free gift' (or something!) from my energy supplier, and, I have to say, against the Biobulb they are dreadful and, having started using them, I'll replace them with Biobulbs as soon as possible! The Biobulb has a 'naturalness' about its light that has greatly improved my living space since I used them to replace incandescent lamps a couple or so years ago. Naturally it uses a little more power than most energy-save bulbs, but that is because it is actually brighter, quite apart from the colour of its light tending to make it look brighter anyway. What can i say about these new bulbs they are absolutly Brilliant! :) Compared to all my other Energy Saver Bulbs these 23Watt Bayonet Full Spectrum Lights are fantastic, I tested these on a bright sunny cloudless day with the windows fully open and the interior light matched the bright clear light outside, No yellowing at all, some of you will need to use a shade as the 23watt version must be close to a 100watt old bulb or more. The full spectrum will certainly help chasing away the winter blues dark days ahead! i'm going to order 3 more, they get bright very fast no waiting around, just make sure sure your contacts are clean and firm and you should avoid any flickering, if you get flickering check the connections! its probably not the bulbs fault. ... I still find it hard to believe just how like natural light the light from this bulb is. It is so much better than the yellow light of ordinary bulbs and I will certainly get some more of these.

I bought this bulb based on advertising blurb as I had never seen one of these before. Having tried it, I have now bought 5 more from a company in Germany as they had a range of different wattages. I absolutely love it. Gone is the gloomy reddish light I have lived in all my life! Very close to sunlight; it does lift up your spirits, especially through these winter days. I thoroughly recommend this but a good idea might be buy a single bulb first to see how you like it. Not cheap at over £10 each but they pay back being low energy bulbs.
