Is there anyone in the country who has never owned a George Foreman grill? Can't be. If used regularly the non-stick coating soon either vanishes or becomes ineffective, I cannot tell which is the case. Cleaning then becomes a real chore, and if not done rigorously gunge accumulates so that when it conks out altogether - and it will eventually - you're glad of the excuse to buy a new one. Had it for a couple weeks now and is my first grill. Makes food much better than pans/ovens, heats up quickly, very happy with it. Downside is it only has one temperature and the timer makes sounds but doesn't turn itself off, requiring a constant presence. It's great for steaks, heating up bread, vegetables etc but we tried cooking sausages on it and the skin was well burnt before the inside was reasonably cooked, a problem caused by no temp control.
