I can understand the frustration of some reviewers - I guess I've just got lucky on two occasions.....12 for 9 certainly works out a lot cheaper. KEEP CHECKING REGULARLY ON AMAZON - BUT BE WARNED, THEY DO SELL OUT QUICKLY AND THERE'S NOWHERE I'VE FOUND CHEAPER.

The water where I am (North Yorkshire) isn't too bad, but whereas many regions in this part of the country have superb (soft) water, my area isn't quite so blessed. I dont drink the tap water, just because of a slight taste and the many bits flying around in the glass when the tap water is poured. Also that slight "film" on the top of cups of tea & coffee is slightly off putting. I have just received this product today, and couldn't be happier. Straight away you can see the glass of water you are drinking is clean and pure, and the taste definitely validates this further. Brita Maxtra 9 Pack Water Filter Cartridges (+3 Free) This Kettle is well worth Purchasing, a little bit more expencive than ordenry Kettles, but is worth it your hot drinks tast much better and the lights on the kettle look well cool, and a keep warm button enables you to make hot drinks without having to reboil the keetle and wiil keep the water hot for several hours. I have had no problems at all with this and am very pleased with it. The only problem is the Britta cartidges you need fot the kettle can work out a little expencive, concidering you have to change it every 4 weeks.

Only buy this if you can take out a maintenance contract with it. I am now on my third machine. I have taken cover as it breaks down after about a year. The machine is obviously under engineered. Needs a better motor in it. Great idea, but needed to have more testing done on product before reaching public.Very noisy as well.

I too was on my second water chiller, having had the original one replaced under guarantee just before the year was up. The refrigeration unit on the replacement has now broken and the chiller is just outside it's guarantee period. The water quality is great and the concept good but I would not trust a third to give good service. It was an expensive item and so I would expect it to last longer than these two filters have.
