In the past twelve years I've managed a grand total of three weeks without a working bread maker (when making olive bread, be sure that the olives you are using are pitted!). This machine recently replaced a Russell Hobbs model that was getting a little squeaky in use. I've by no means explored all its possibilities, but I have never had a break machine as good as this before.

I generally prefer to use the dough setting, as I prefer to shape the loaf myself, but I have tried "going all the way" with this machine and apart from the hole in the base where the paddle was, the results are barely distinguishable from a conventional oven baked loaf.

Even on the dough setting it takes longer than my last bread maker, but ... Read More:

I received this yesterday & have already made (& eaten) 3 1lb loaves. I've found this model very easy to use, I chose this one as it was a 'Which best buy' & compact. Any advice on the paddle? The manual states that it may occassionaly get stuck...I've got a 100% record of digging it out of the bread so far....

After doing a bit of research and checking out what other people had said about this breadmaker I brought one. When I attempted to make my first loaf I was convinced it was going to be a disaster. How wrong was I! It was a complete success! The smell of homemade bread while baking is lovely and the taste is so much better than shop-brought bread. It is so simple to make loaves, rolls or hot cross buns. Even my daughter who has just set up her own home has asked for one for Christmas and she's not an avid cook, she just loves the taste of the bread!

I bought this machine for looks and the drop down paddle ( had a breadmaster that made wonderful bread but was getting a new kitchen and so I wanted all my gadgets in stainless steel ( put my breadmaster in the loft n kissed it apologetically). The MR breadmaker boasted a drop down paddle( which never really worked ) 16mths later ( still under guarantee) it stopped kneading and all the recipes I,ve used before were disasters tried once more and it refused to work at all, discovered that tho still under guarantee it would cost me a £15.00 to send back to Morphy Richards and then the guarantee would be from first purchase. So I consigned the rubbish guarantee and their rubbish bread maker to the local tip and got my breadmaster back down from the loft and cleaned ... Read More:

I have had a couple of breadmakers, and although this was a bit more than I wanted to pay, it has been definitely worth it. It was so easy to get used to, and the bread has been the best from any breadmaker I have had. I have tried a few of the doughs and tried adding seeds to the bread mixture, all of which have turned out brilliantly. Shop bread comes a definite second best in comparison. In fact I never buy bread now. this is a great machine and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This is the first time I have ever made bread. This machine makes it so easy, just don't use to much yeast.
If, like me, you have never made bread or used a machine then download recipes and try them out. This bread maker is good value and well made, the service/spares are easy to get from Morphy Richards direct.

I bought this today from Comet - £5 cheaper than Amazon and no waiting.
I took it home, assembled it (ie. attached the kneading paddle), washed it, 2 minutes with warm water. Added 150ml of water, 250g of Seeded bread mix from Tesco. I set the program pressed GO and 3h 45m later was eating slices of my first ever home baked loaf. Easy peazy! And it cost about 50p, counting electricity and the mix. Now to try it with the raw ingredients. And then add some seeds. And then maybe some pizza dough...

It really is simple to use although criticisms about the LCD screen angle and the basket are valid. In my case the problem was the basket being too tight and very hard to get out. But some practice showed that a two handed technique on the handle with gentle leverage ... Read More:

Yes, the buttons are in german but god, it's worth it! The loaf is a loaf shape (!) un like any other breadmaker i can find at least on Amazon and we had a morphy richards before the compact one, and it did well apart from the kneading was a struggle for it with wholemeal flour and the bread pan would also un twist itself with the effort leaving bread cooked in a bread pan not properly anchored and at an angle. Not so here. It locks in by clicking in downwards. It's sturdy and quietly kneads the strongest of wholemeal flours with no complaints. The bread turned out just as nice as with our old bread maker, actually nicer with the same recipe just times one and a half. The bleeps aren't as loud as the Morphy Richards was too, just right infact...i think this is a very well constructed machine!
