The difference is in the design with this Dyson. You just have to see the detail. It's vastly superior to any other handheld. In fact, from Dyson's own website, I can buy any part, and make a whole new machine myself and without having to pay for costly repairs. What do you do with your old handheld when it breaks - throw it away and buy another one? Well done Mr. Dyson. It's a top product. I brought this to clean my car and needed good suction to remove clumps of mud, dog hair and grit. It certainly removed them and the motorised head which is not air powered but a separate electric motor which gets its power through two prongs just above the nozzle join is very good with its coarse and stiff bristles. But what good is it when you can only get six minutes of use out of it. I figured I could just get a second battery and have that on charge while I vacuum with another battery - alas not! The only way to charge a battery is to couple it to the device and charge it. A major design oversight in my opinion. I have no idea what the other reviewer had against this product, Dude it costs only £[...]!!! Anyway this is an effective little gift that works as well as can be expected and is well made. Perfect as a gift for a neat freak!

Great wee gadget! It even has a built in light which is handy as a night light in the hallway, strong power and looks good too. For this price you can't go wrong!

I have had other dustbusters but this one beats all. I suffer from arthritis and this little vac just skims across the floor with the aid of two little wheels, I have no problem using it, in fact I rarely ever use my big vac now as this one seems to go on forever without charge. It has a run time of about 20 or so minutes time to do the job no problem. I would recommend this little vac above all others. I give it five, well worth the money.

I don't usually write reviews for stuff I have bought from the www, but I felt this product deserved it! This hand held vac is fantastic. Not only is it great value, but it does the job brilliantly. I bought this for our camper van, and it cleans both the carpet and hard surfaces brilliantly. You do have to empty the filter after every use but that isn't too much trouble (you may want to do it outside at arms length). I am so glad I did not buy the more expensive competition item. Normally handheld vacs are a bit weedy and barely suck up anything, but this really does the job, better in fact than our household vac. Top marks for a good tool.

I had the Black and Decker 9 v dustbuster for 3 years, using it every day and found it excellent, when it died I decided to buy the 12v for the extra power. I am delighted with this dustbuster it has all the features my old one had and one or two extras (2 speeds and a pull out nozzle). It is easy to use and easy to empty. It does need the filter cleaning, by just taking it off and knocking out the dust every so often, but that is simple to do. I would recommend this dustbuster to anyone who wants a quick cleanup for crumbs etc. or for cleaning the car.

The first reviewer wrote that he had difficulty getting replacement parts. I took his advice and checked for parts (in particular the belt. I tried a good supplier who could not find a replacement belt. I purchased another make instead with plenty of parts available. Buyer be really aware with this product
