Kitchen & Housewares : Philips GC4340 Azur Premium Steam Iron with Auto Shut Off 2400W

I bought this iron about six months ago and it has worked perfectly since day one. The range of steam settings offers good incremental positions and the no steam setting can be selected with one small movement of the slide.

The shape of the face plate seems to suit my shirt size(16)and I think my shirts have never looked better. I iron my shirts box flat when travelling for business or when I have limited space and a work colleague has now asked me three times if my shirt was new!

The water reservoir is a bit small and does need refilling fairly frequently otherwise I would have given this 5 stars.

Great Ironing ,BUT it leaks water in spurts! Halfway through ironing it would give a sneeze and spurt out gobs of water on my clothes! Am commencing a return as I write this. Cant have irons leak onto clothes, now cant I?

This was my third Philips iron in a row (for normal domestic use) but this one was nowhere as good as the previous two models. GC2522 looks quite stylish and for the first few weeks it worked very well. However, it soon started dragging its feet when it came to continuous steam ironing. The steam just won't come out even if you set it to the maximum setting and even if you set the temperature to maximum.

It seems they've tried to put in place an an auto shut-off system for steam so that the steam isn't lost when the iron isn't moving (i.e. presumed to be not in use). But they've got it wrong somehow and the steam doesn't come out unless you move the iron back and forth almost violently - hardly the kind of thing you want to be doing while ... Read More:
