Out of the box this is a very elegant looking machine compared to most ice cream makers. I had a Philips one some years ago and this unit is no noiser than that, they all seem to make some noise due to the gearing. Freeze the ice bucket in your freezer for 24 hours and its ready. Put on the lid with the paddle and motor and away it goes, pour your mixture in and freezing begins immediately. If the mixture actually freezes completely the machine changed direction to remove the blockage, hence the gearing noise I suspect. In around 15 minutes or less I had lovely frozen yoghurt. I was looking for a bigger slow cooker than the 2 litre one I already had. (My USA slow cooker book recommended a larger one so that you could cook for the freezer.) Well this one seemed twice the size - but it's still not what I'd call big. What I'd recommend you do is to fill a suacepan with water and measure what 3.5 litres actually looks like and whether you need an even bigger one. In this cooker 3.5 litres is nearly to the top of the bowl and some recipes can be a bit bulky until they have cooked a while. This one might be fine for a family of four or as one of a pair (you'll soon realise that two slow cookers is what you'll need for a dinner and a pudding or extra side dishes). I have just purchased this mixer after many, many weeks of indecision - I really wanted a kitchenaid as they are supposed to be the best but the classic version of the kitchenaid doesn't have a handle on the bowl. To get a handle you would have to get the artisan version which is over £300. And a bowl with a handle would be so much more user friendly and for this kind of money I think a handle is a requirement and not a luxury!! So I came across this mixer which has everything - 3 attachments, handle on bowl, powerful motor - in fact more powerful than the classic kitchenaid, looks really nice - I think it actually looks better than the kitchenaid. My daughter had one of these for her 13th birthday recently. She has made various icecreams with it which are lovely. It is easy to use and doesn't require loads of ingredients to make something really tasty. The thing that I really like about it that you know the end product is made with natural ingredients and the 'fruity taste' is superb!

This toaster has a very appealing look, with the prettiest of knobs and dials. We chose Morphy Richards because they have been making them for so long, they MUST know what they are doing... It's good that you can use either pair of slots and each has its own setting dial. However, although it has extra-wide slots, unfortunately they are not extra-deep, nor extra-long, and a slice of my homemade (breadmaker - not that clever!) bread doesn't fit either way. Also it seems to take longer to toast that my previous toaster, and so the toast is dryer than I like. It toast reasonably evenly, though. and the timing knob is proportioned correctly, i.e. for light brown toast, set the dial to 4/10.

A reasonable size and looks quite good on the shelf, but a very disappointing quality. Very thin glass and likely to end up broken very quickly. More the sort of thing I would expect from a Pound Shop - not what you expect to get for a designer price!

my family loves ice cream, but i am acutely aware of the rubbish and additives that goes into the mass produced stuff, so i'd been looking to buy a home machine for a while. when i saw this monster i had to have it - nearly bought it from amazon (they are the cheapest on the 'net) but my local cook shop had a deal on so i got it from there. it is an impressive piece of kit, heavy, robust and pretty noisy - but the ice cream is better than the shop bought stuff - and the healthy frozen yoghurt is tops - i totally recommend this machine. don't waste your money on cheaper machines, or fussy ones (gaggia and magimix), this is the one!

This machine looks great, and the coffee is good. The steamer works well. But this machine,s has a big down side, when it has delivered the coffee it continues to drip, so you have to remove the cup and replace it whith a empty cup to catch all the drips, and boy does it drip.I can't beleave how much Amazon is chargeing for this machine, you can buy this in most shops or online for uder £70.
