russell hobbs steam generation iron, has ceased working after 13 months,it will not generate any steam, the guarantee has run out and i am having great difficulty trying to find out if it is worth sending back for repairs. but after reading all these reviews i really do not think i shall bother as it looks like with postage, repairs and return postage i may as well buy a differant make and model and not have all the hassel and frustration of a defunct iron that won`t generate steam....thanks for the warnings

A good iron with a nice flexible old fashioned style flex. It is solid and feels good in the hand, glides well over clothes, not so hot it melts things and is a sensible price. The shot of steam is impressive but only four stars because a) the 360 degrees cord movement is too stiff b)the steam volume selection dial has numbers on it that can only be seen under bright light with a magnifying glass (no exaggeration) which makes it difficult to work out whether steam is on or off. This is compounded by the anti-drip system which (I think) stops the water flowing into the hotplate unless there is enough heat. For the first ten minutes I thought it wasn't steaming but after learning the steam dial and waiting patiently with the iron horizontal ... Read More:

Love the colours that indicate the different temperatures. Never spits water. Never had to clean the sole plate. Have owned mine for over a year and am now looking for one for my daughter due to its outstanding performance.

brought this iron in last year, it looks good and is light weight, but have experienced problems. Because it was digital it appealed to me as well, but, i'd much rather prefer a less fancy normal iron, now...! it states it it is non-drip, but as soon as i put the water in and let it sit while i get the close, the water starts to drip out, i have to put a jug underneath the stand and a cloth, so the dripping water is corrected and doesn't ruin my cream carpets. Also the self clean button, never worked properly....def. would not recommend this iron.
