Nice looking kettle that works well, boils the water quickly, and is very reasonably priced.

Firstly, I don't understand why there are so many positive reviews. I bought this kettle, based on these comments, and it arrived today. (After 2 weeks), and i must say, I am really dissapointed.

Its cheap, and nasty. The lid does not close properly, and is very loose.
The illuminated section can only be seen if you switch all the lights off and have the kitchen in complete darkness.

The base is very flimsy thin plastic. There is the option to keep the cord at a short length, by wrapping it under the base, BUT the cord is so stiff, the base tilts the kettle unless its full of water!

I have tried it once, and i have already packed it back up, and printed my returns lable.

If you're thinking ... Read More:

Yes it's not particularly high tech nor will it win any design awards and the build quality is not up to ipod standards but, and this is important! it wakes you up with a freshly made pot (HOT) of tea for 2. OK, the rocker switches are a little dated, the clock is a little "agricultural" for my liking and it's only a slightly less than 12 hour timer (how long do you sleep for anyway?) but it's a teasmade - it makes tea. I suppose they could have added a digital clock, WiFi, internet radio, D.A.B., bluetooth and god knows what else but it wouldn't make it do the job any better. As for a kettle and timer, good luck with that, it's certainly cheaper but somewhat less convienient (or safe for that matter) and then you have still got to pour the water into ... Read More:

Chose this Kettle as we had researched many makes, models and designs and it suited our taste and decor, however after obtaining a bargain with both this Kettle and the matching toaster, we were disappointed to find that after one week the side window (displaying the water level and green light) leaked, covering the work surface with water. We obtained a replacement without problem from the retailer we purchased it from, however in a little over a fortnight the 2nd one leaked from the same place. It could just be a faulty batch or bad luck, but incase it's a design flaw we decided to opt for an alternative in the Prestige Deco range. Shame though.

I am so pleased I chose the Tefal Express Diamond kettle. I just love this kettel,it looks nice it's comfortable to hold, and I like the way the lid opens to fill it, it sits on it's stand easily and it boils in the nick of time, if I had one gripe and it's only a little one, it a bit noisy but I can live with that.

Had ours for a year. It does exactly what you want it to do, enables you to boil just the water you need, and it does it quickly. I recommend it. We've had no problems with ours.

Ordered this as it looks good, wanted a kettle with good reviews and at a good price. I'm well chuffed with this purchase!!!!!

Takes no time at all to boil a full kettle or a few cups. I'm not put off at all by the noice it makes and wouldn't say it was that loud, although i can see why people might say that it is.

The kettle looks great and the blue light is a good gimmick. The blue light is even visible during the day.

Note that the kettle is hardened plastic and not glass. You'd think that by looking at it that it is glass and really looks well made.

No spills, no drips, just as you'd expect.

Nothing negative to say and full of praises!

We purchased this kettle and toaster combo as we felt Russell Hobbs was a name you could trust. The design seemed modern and did exactly what we wanted. However, after a couple of months the toaster started to not release the toast and we ended up burning toast every time we used it. The light system is also hard to read. Then the kettle, scaled up very quickly and burns your hand when pouring. It has also started to leak. All in all it has been the worst purchase we have ever made and now we're on the lookout again for alternative.

Brita Maxtra 9 Pack Water Filter Cartridges (+3 Free)
This Kettle is well worth Purchasing, a little bit more expencive than ordenry Kettles, but is worth it your hot drinks tast much better and the lights on the kettle look well cool, and a keep warm button enables you to make hot drinks without having to reboil the keetle and wiil keep the water hot for several hours. I have had no problems at all with this and am very pleased with it. The only problem is the Britta cartidges you need fot the kettle can work out a little expencive, concidering you have to change it every 4 weeks.

It seems that Russell Hobbs is very focused on making their stuff look good, and yet they're not too bothered about whether it works well.

As the previous reviewer stated, the kettle pours badly. I've never had to think about pouring a kettle before, but with this thing you have to be careful because of the strange spout.

and despite it being rapid boil it seems reluctant to stop boiling the water. I can clearly see the water boiling away and yet the kettle continues boiling it for a further 15 seconds. I usually just end up switching it off the moment I see the water boiling. I suppose this is the trouble with devices that have glass sides, we can see them working badly.
