Bought this item after reading other reviews and after trying the much more expensive but effective Wella Pro Wand at my local Salon. Sadly this doesn't seem to suit my hair type. I have long, very thick, strong, curly hair and even on the highest setting, this does not curl my hair with any definition, nor does it hold. It may be more effective on less resistant types of hair, and the size of the barrel means that it isn't really suitable for short hair or hair which has short layers. I have achieved a much better curl using a gas powered curling tong.

Straighteners absolutely crucify my fine hair and even if the hairdresser uses them to curl it the curls drop out very quickly. I was expecting similar results from this wand but as the temperature is adjustable I thought I would give it a go. My hair is just below my shoulders and it works perfectly at this length. I have seen it used on longer hair which looked great but couldn't comment on shorter styles. It certainly takes a bit of getting used to and expect to burn yourself (although not seriously) a few times but persevere and you won't regret it. I bought this hairdryer a couple of weeks ago and have so far been very pleased with it. It has 3 heat and 3 speed settings and a cool shot. It is very light and is a lovely glossy pink colour. I wasn't blown away (excuse the pun) by how quiet it was but have found it's quietest on a low speed and high heat setting. It also leaves my hair very shiny so I think the ceramic / ionic feature does make a difference. My only minor criticism is that I can sometimes accidentally turn it off by hitting one of the switches but I think this happens with alot of hairdryers and can be stopped by holding it a bit further up the handle. In summary, a really good light hairdryer for a very reasonable price.

I bought this for my 14th birthday, thinking at £10 it was worth a try. It looks slightly intimidating at first, it is quite chunky but very light. I have thick wavy/curly auburn hair and by twisting hair as suggested I got perfect smooth twirling curls. I found I could make them bigger or smaller by adding more or less hair. The curl press meant it stayed in my hair all day and the next day without hairspray!
