This does work really well and I wouldn't boil an egg without it now. The colour changes to black (or dark red) gradually from the outside in as the egg cooks, and you just wait until the edge of darker colour reaches the "soft", "medium" or "hard" markings, however you like it. Perfect results every time. We have extremely hard water, but I always use filtered water and have never had a problem.
However, a warning if you're colour blind: it might not be quite so useful. My husband is colour blind and he has trouble seeing where the colour has changed.

Whilst the recipes look good and nutritious, I was very disappointed with the format of the book as it looks like something someone cooked (pardon the pun!) up at home with microsoft publisher and not very well at that. Very cheap looking, and I think wasn't at all worth it.
I haven't tried any of the recipes as yet and they do look good and the instructions are very easy to follow, but there are probably more credible decent looking cook-books you could get for a couple of pounds extra.

A friend of mine had one of these and I was wondering why I had never discovered it before. As a banana lover, there's nothing more disappointing than turning up at work and finding mush or a battered banana in your fruit bag.

So I bought it, tried it and think it's great! So far I haven't found a banana that doesn't fit, I can finally stop throwing away fruit and finally get to enjoy my banana breaks.

People mention the weird looks from colleagues/friends/family and what others may say. Given the choice between another squashed banana or having an edible one at the end of the journey, which would you choose?

This is a great little machine, very easy to use and froths things up a treat. It comes with the batteries required so you can get frothing right away.

I mainly use it for Latte's & Hot Chocolate drinks and it is great for those - really useful tip is to insert the aerolatte into the liquid before turning it on !! (saves on laundry bills that way!) and also to remember that the frothing needs space to happen - so don't overfill your cup before starting to froth or you will just get lots of milk on your counter-top :)

The hard case that comes with this model is a really good idea, it makes storage really easy and you don't have to worry about the aerolatte being crushed in a drawer or cupboard.

This really does make very nice toasted sandwiches. I have been using mine for a few years now and the only gripe is that you waste a lot of bread - but that keeps the birds happy, I suppose.

You have to put a piece of bread in each side and press it to fit, then you have lots of space to insert the ingredients of your choice. The two sides then close together, chopping the bread into a circular shape (hence the waste).

The handle stays cool but, as another reviewer said, you do have to be careful not to touch the sandwich end as that stays hot for a while.

The finished sandwich slides easily out once it has been toasted and always looks good. I have tried a few sandwich makers over time but this is the only ... Read More:

I can't believe the bad reviews for this excellent gadget. I use it every day, mainly for making salads. The trick is to position it upside down (mesh side down) over a sturdy plastic bowl, place sliced vegetables (or onion halves) straight on the mesh, then bring the other half down over the vegetables with a short sharp 'Karate' chop.
It works well for tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, onions, pitted olives, celery... etc. Carrots are a bit too hard, but you can do them as well if you slice them reasonably thinly. You'll get a bowlful of lovely healthy salad in no time at all! Really useful!
