I liked these scales at first, particularly the fact that you can put your own mixing bowl on the scale and reset the scale to zero for each ingredient. But - the inbuilt clock/timer is permanently on - the only way to stop it is to removed the battery, and as the catch on the battery compartment looks pretty feeble, that wouldn't be an option for long, as well as being a pain to bother. So why is this so annoying? Well, the battery is one of those little round ones that you can't just pick up in the supermarket, and as it runs out after a few months, you will be replacing it pretty often. i think this is a great little timer, i use it for cooking and mainly reminding me to do things. it has a clock, a stop watch timer and a count down timer of up to 19 hours and 59 minutes, also on the countdown timer it beeps 10 and then 5 mins before the final time which is a great extra. i think its fab and does the job i need it to.

This unit is very slim and has a glass top, Amazon have a white and silver version, mine is the silver one. The on/off button is make believe as its under the glass so the unit must sense a change in weight, not sure if it works on a tap or a prolonged press to turn off, havent had much success in that area, LOL. Always managed to get it to turn off just not at first attempt, it does auto power off so that isnt a major issue. It always turns on first attempt. I will get knack, only used it twice. That aside it is very nicely styled modern yet conservative. Works well, lets you reset it with a weight on so you can add stuff and weight that, etc. Uses 2xAAA so easy to replace.
