The Imperia was given to me as a birthday present and wow do I love it. I love cooking and I am really methodically about following recipies, going through the whole process from making your dough to cutting your pasta is just fantastic. Honestly, once you make your own pasta - the taste! You'll never look back. From beginners to pros, the Imperia is just the best machine out there. It is easy to put together, just needs a wipe clean and it looks really good in the kitchen. Go on, impress your friends, impress yourself - this little machine is an investment.

works well, giving light soft mash with no lumps. Came with 3 inserts but no instructions, so pot luck to use the right insert for the right food...still, gave me a lovely smooth mash. You need to have reasonably strong hands to use it, and the first time i tried I got quite a lot of mash all over myself and the worksurface, but on the whole, perfectly decent.

Okay but if you are left handed I would suggest looking elsewhere, as the ignition button is placed in a way that makes it difficult to use this left-handed. It would have been so simple for the designer to have placed it either at the front or back so that it could have been used with either hand.

Not only a highly efficient way of opening a wine bottle (unless it is a screwcap variety) but a wonderful piece of engineering to look at.

I must admit I'm finding it really hard to master the technique of using this mandolin. For example if I cut a carrot across the width of the carrot, the slices are fine on the leading edge of the slice of carrot, but the other edge is paper thin, so I'm getting slanted slices and end up with an unusable shape of carrot left in the slider. It will effectively be a triangular shape and because one edge has made it to the stalks I can't keep cutting it. It seems as though I need to apply far too much pressure on the slider to get an even slice. Apart from that, it is a sturdy machine and easy to clean, I just rinse it under the tap.

Heavy Duty?????? This piece of rubbish bent up at the first attempt to crush a flimsy coke can. Don't waste your money.

The SP150 is brilliant, much better than my previous one. However, the instructions are very poor, particularly with this pack as you get no more information than in the standalone machine. This means you don't get told to grease the ravioli tray (oops - completely ruined) or not to thin the pasta sheets too much for the spagetti cutter - which I have yet to get to work properly. Might be better to stick to the simpler product, particularly for beginners.
