Lasted less than 24 hours. I used wholegrain basmati rice and found that rice was not cooked in the specified 10mins, some extra water in and another two minutes, still not ready but fed up so ate it. Next day I tried it for 13.5 mins continuous but I had used less rice so it was a disaster and I stopped the microwave because of the smell - not of cooked rice but of burnt plastic. So I recommend you experiment carefully. There is no table on the package to specify different times with different weights. Perhaps you always have to cook exactly the amount of rice that they refer to in their "two sentences of instructions on the side of the box". I have bought three of this type of thermometer and so far the tip has broken on two of them. I think this makes them a bit dangerous for using in the kitchen.

Oh my god, what a waste of money! I use salt and pepper mills and was fed up of wiping the grains off the table, so when I saw this lil fella I thought I was sorted! How wrong I was, it can't even suck up small grains of salt! I stick to using a clean damp dishcloth, it works the best!

I purchased this as a present and it arrived with the Measuring Cup missing and the box in bad condition. I was disappointed with the presentation of the product too and would not be happy giving it as the present it was intended to be. It did not seem worth £16.

Bought this from Amazon - and was delivered in 3 days, despite being the standard, free, delivery. Product well-packed - double boxed, the inner one being a normal retail one, suitable as a gift. Unit is sturdy & heavy - as are the knives, which are very sharp, and dishwasher proof. 25 yr guarantee, I think, from the mnfrs - amazing! Highly recommended, especially at under £40 from Amazon - was £60 on the high st!

poor quality, cheap and tacky - I never even got round to making pasta before mine broke (it requires a little assembly) and the handle didn't even fit in its slot!would not recommend kitchen craft to anyone.
