We bought this has a kitchen treat, as we were fed up with the cheap ones, then having to finish whisking off by hand, well to get it right anyway. However with this beauty there is no half way mode, it goes the whole hog, it's a fantastic machine, and well worth the high price tag, I could have got a cheaper one, but I needed yellow to match the kitchen decor. No wonder Nigella uses these machines, like Nigella this mixer has plenty of front, and hard working.

This blender cannot cope well with small amounts of food - for instance Hollandaise sauce using 2 egg yolks (the blades do not reach near the base of the goblet far enough, consequently the smaller amounts just sit at the base of the jug with the blades whizzing around above!). When pureeing, this blender seems to pulp the food more, rather than blend it. This blender is not like any other you will find - you have to put the MINIMUM liquid in if you are making soups etc - just one ladlefull too much of stock can make the difference between a soup that is smooth or one that has bits of food floating around that has not been blended down properly, so soup making with this machine can be very hit and miss (I had this blender for 4 years and made ...
