I bought 3 of these,from a well know DIY store,to replace our ageing wall lights which used a 40w conventional bulb each. They do look good once fitted and painted to match your decor. The light they difuse both above and below the bowl is soft,but as I have 3 of them in my lounge,they are a bit too bright. I believe 18w translates into 60-100watts in a conventional bulb, depending on which website you believe. These energy saving lights don't work with a dimmer switch, so I though no problem, I'll just put a lower wattage bulb in,but couldn't find one in the shops with exactly the same cap number. I asked the manufacturer, Micromark, for advice and was told these lights can only be used with the 18watt bulb it comes with and the wattage cannot ... Read More:
