OK, so here's the deal.. I bought one of these a couple of years ago and it ended up getting thrown out because it stopped working. Wasn't a manufacturing fault though, let's get that straight... it worked perfectly for a couple of years until I moved house and got myself a different desk. The desk wasn't quite as deep as the previous one so I (stupidly) removed the spacer from the back of the cooler and pushed it up to the back of my desk in the little cubby hole. Within six months it was dead, because there was no air circulation at the back of it. I killed it, plain and simple. yes, this is fine. nice-looking; sturdy enough. not especially noisy (but not especially quiet either). The first setting is powerful enough for me. unlike the previous reviewer i had no problems at all assembling it + i thought the instructions were perfectly clear. I don't think the metal screen obstructs the fan (??) and mine doesn't rattle when it oscillates. I bought this fan for less than £20 on Amazon (from 247electrical, about £25 inc postage)and I'm happy with it. (i've seen it priced for £35 elsewhere)
