Philips Imageo LED Rechargeable Candle Lights This product says "sold and dispatched by Amazon.co.uk" so I was rather suprised that these were sent from another company in Bremen, Germany. As such they took a week to be delivered, and this has cost it one star. It doesn't matter that it came from abroad, just don't suggest that it's coming from an Amazon warehouse in the UK. Anyway, these are great little lights, they merrily flicker like real candles and the frosted glass the lights are housed in, are robust and attractive. The intensity of the light is not sufficient for you to do away with your room lights but if you want mood lighting or just to brighten a darkened corner, they won't disappoint. The light itself ... I heard about this lamp and dismissed it as a trashy cheap sounding toy, but I was in Dublin recently and saw one in operation in a philips shop. It was actually kind of nice and because you can turn down the intensity of the colours a lot, it really manages to create a lot of different moods. When I got it back home it was even better, in the evenings, in our white painted apartment, it could totally transform the look of the place. Light blues, deep greens, or hellish deep red, whatever the colour or intensity you want with the remote it only takes seconds to get it. It can stand on a flat surface but isn't as stable as I'd like. It comes on when it senses movement and off after 15 seconds. I took a star off cos it turns on even during daylight, while the led means it has very low power consumption, the AAA are not cheap and have limited capacity. I think Philips should have built some logic in it to only turn on only when it's dark. You may say that's too much to ask for from a £6 unit, but I have a Masterplug LED light that cost £5 that can do just that and more. Shame it's now discontinued.
