I bought this blender elsewhere, but feel obliged to share the review as i am still looking for a hand blender. The chopping attachments are excellent and the variable speeds give good versatality with different ingredients. The blender shaft is efficient and expeditiously blends foods smooth. I used and placed my blender shaft in the dishwasher twice and found that the plastic part came away. The blender shaft has a black insert which is glued to the stainless steel exterior. While I was trying to fit it the stainless steel edge cut my hand. I returned it for a full refund, and it was reported to Philips. I received a letter from them saying that I had misused the product. Was disappointed.

Great all round blender, a little noisy but in terms of looks and build quality it's excellent. No problems so far

Can't really complain for the money. Suppose it does what it says on the tin! A lot better made than similarly priced toasters that I've inspected at supermarkets etc. I was particularly concerned about the clasp that holds it closed as that's what broke on my last sandwich toaster. This one seems pretty good with two levels of grip for thicker or thinner bread/fillings. Seems well made, good quality and durable, although shiny plastic and brushed chrome, while good looking, might not be the best to clean when daubed with melted cheese and grease! I bought this for two reasons, one, the old fashioned method took too much effort, and two because of the reviews it was given. They were all right, it does exactly what it says on the tin with no fuss at all. Easy to clean and quick to do the job. Even my husband (the chef in the house) who grumbled at first that it would take longer to clean than use, is impressed. I wish I had bought one years ago.

As my wife says, "It's Fantastic, every woman (or person who does the ironing) should have one!" Of course you could say that about any steam generator iron and incase you don't know the advantages of one here they are:- 1. The iron itself is much lighter than a conventional iron as the water and heating elements are elseware so it's much easier on the wrists. 2. It considerably shortens the time taken to do your ironing, because the steam power guarantees you only needing to iron one side, often with only one pass. 3. Nice looking kettle with a good lid. It does take a while to switch off when boiling so don't position it under a unit as the steam will cause damage. I find it heavy when it's filled to MAX. but I'm only 5'1".

I was looking for a simple, no frills kettle to replace our very old one. Having read some of the previous reviews, I decided that this one was way better than others - quick, "nicely balanced", "easy to fill". Although I am still happy with it - it boils water, after all - I must say that I do not agree with some of the reviewers. My wrists might be wrong shape, but I do not find the kettle nicely balanced at all - it's awkward and heavy. It is not particularly easy to fill through the spout and the lid is stiff on my kettle. It is noisy and not very quick. Otherwise a nice, neat-looking kettle. We have had it for over a year and it's still working.
