Yes, it's great that it turns on automatically when it detects motion but why oh why could Philips not gone the extra yard and made it disable itself when it's not dark??? It comes on all day long regardless of the ambient light and wastes the batteries!

The alarm is quite nice to look at, it's quite compact and is very easy to set up radio stations and alarms (2). There are only 5 pre-sets for radio stations and although there are two alarms, as far as I can tell you can only have one radio alarm and one buzzer alarm. There is a large button at the top of the alarm that has a double function: sleep button for alarm and dimmer switch for the backlight. All in it's a nice little alarm. I would however, echo the previous comments that in the age of space tourism, cloning and quantum engineering that I'd expect a little bit more from an alarm. Especially when you can buy a freeview box/multi region dvd player for the same price.

Designed by idiots for idiots and reviewed bt idiots.I bought 1 of these on the basis of the reviews.First thing to clarify which was missleading is this is a coffee bag - like a tea bag is a tea bag, and its not a pod. The strength - weakness is a better word was very similat for a 1 cup and 2 cup measure.It was not strong enough,The best cup I made was putting the coffee bag in a cup like a tea bag.What a joke.One up for the marketing people.

It looks good, it makes very nice coffee, BUT!!!! when you come to remove the parts for washing afterwards, it causes coffee drips on your machine, on your breakfast bar, & on the floor!!! Worst of all, it drips down the front of the body of the machine, and if you're not quick enough, it runs between the joint of the main body and the base!! Very poor design fault by such a respected company!!! The best way to prevent "the mess" is to press a piece of kitchen roll tissue tight against the coffee pourer nozzle as you remove it from the machine. That works!!

We bought this iron as a replacement for our "Which? Best Buy" Tefal steam generator. That lasted just a couple of years before its cord covering frayed badly, a fault we put up with for a further two years. At £50.00 to repair we thought it wasn't worthwhile even though it had been an excellent iron in other ways. Yet, as good as the Tefal was, this Philips surpasses it in every detail but one - the Tefal had a better cord storage system that worked well (a small detail). The Philips is light (so much lighter than a standard steam iron), it's powerful (much better than the excellent Tefal even) and it's very compact for such a powerful device. This toasts white bread to a cinder even at the lowest setting. On one side. Whichever slot I use the bread is toasted more on one side than the other. Not a good buy.
