it's healthier than my old kenwood deep fryer ... but do the chips come out any better ... thats debatable ... the best potato to use is the Kerr's Pink ..... makes Maris Pipers and king edwards potatoes poor in comparison .... 1 downside 30 - 40 minutes to make chips

I am now on my 3rd Tefal 'Quick Cup'. The last two machines I owned just gave up producing hot water. After the 1st one, I took it back and swapped it for a new one, but within a couple of months, this also stopped giving out hot water. Then I got a refund. However, I missed it so much, that I just bought another one. Why? Because while it's working, it's just the greatest thing IF, like me, you mainly drink green tea or fruit teas, which aren't supposed to be made with boiling water. I use a kettle if I want to make normal (black) tea, because that requires boiling water, which you will not get from the 'Quick Cup'. If this latest machine I've bought packs in again, I will NOT be buying another one!

I can't agree with the other reviewer. My feelings are consistent with those expressed by Which? magazine when they rated it a Best Buy. To quote: "results are excellent...ready to iron denim in 45 seconds...heavy but the weight is reassuring and you won't need to press down...glides well...easy to fill". I'd certainly recommend trying it for comfort before buying because, apart from the weight, it has quite a wide handle, albeit cushioned and comfortable. If you're ok with the weight (it's only .3 kg heavier than their lightest Best Buy) and the handle, you'll be delighted when you actually use it.

I am really impressed with this. It takes no time at all to make poached egg on toast. You can choose the softness or hardness of the egg by the measuring jug provided. Bad Points? I too wish it did 2 poached eggs at once. Very pleased with it and have recommended it to most of my friends.

All too often we buy yet another gadget to add to our kitchen and then find that it disappears out of sight. This is one that I use contantly. Stew type dishes come to mind straight away because the food ends up being so tender and the taste is great because the cooking is contained in the pot. You can therefore, use the cheaper cuts of meat with great success It is absolutely great for when you have guests. I prepare food in the slow cooker before they come and then I can then spend time enjoying the visit. Recently, we all went on a picnic and returned home to a hot supper stew with crusty bread. As somebody who has bought so many items for the kitchen and then ended up allowing them to collect dust due to non-use because they were the in thing at the time. I was a little dubious about purchasing yet another gadget which after a few months will get binned because I cant be asked to spend ages cleaning the damn thing after use.(I dont mind spending ages preparing the food, but cleaning???) Well flatten my feet and call me Daffy This must be one of the easiest things to clean. I usually wash down the whole thing in minutes prior to eating. On that alone Im sold. Ill let the other reviewers inform you about how good it cooks.

Bought this fryer recently as fed up of spending far too much of my life waiting for things to cook in our passed its best oven. This fryer is great and we have had perfectly cooked chips every time and would definately recommend this product. Only slight drawback is that the viewing window doesn't do it for us and I keep have to lift the lid to see if my chips are yet cooked to perfection. But otherwise a fabulous buy!
