I all but gave up buying wine until someone bought me one of these. I became frustrated by tipping half a bottle of good red wine down the sink a day after opening it when it had gone off, or feeling that I had to finish the bottle, and so feel worse for drink the day after. This item has changed all that. I no longer have to think about the waste if I just want a glass or two from a bottle. Simply push in the rubber bung and use the pump to suck all the air out. The wine keeps well for at least a week like this, and so is the perfect gizmo, if like me, you are a one or two glass per night regular wine drinker. I bought this along with the metal version which can be found here:Vacu Vin Easy Slicer Stainless Steel I prefer the metal one (the reasons for which can be read in my review there) but I still like this one for all the reasons the other reviewers have stated. Little tip: When you've reached the bottom carry on turning the slicer but pull up so that the slicer finishes the strip it's cut to make it easier to pull out.

This wine-cooler is great.... looks stylish and not tacky, and does the job! I would recommend that you give it 30mins to be sure, but as previous reviewers have said, if you leave the sleeve in the freezer, it is ready for action!

This is an essential bit of kitchen kit if you are eating pineapples a lot. I do, because I make daily smoothies. All you have to do is cut off the top of the pineapple and select a cutter from the 3 supplied to fit the pineapple and screw the cutter into the pineapple. It is easy to do and you end up with pineapple slices, core and shell, all nicely separate. I can definitely recommend it.

I bought this as well as the plastic version with three sizes that can be found here: Vacuvin Pineapple Easy Slicer set of 3 (small, medium & large) I first used the plastic slicer on a giant pineapple which made relatively short work of the pineapple but produced thinner slices than I was expecting and took a lot of pressure to make head way. I then used this version on a normal pineapple (sorry, I forgot the type) and this worked as I expected it should before I used the pastic one i.e. it was a lot easier and produced thicker slices than the plastic version. The fact that it's metal seemed to provide it with less friction than the plastic version. Overall I like this product and would recommend anybody ... Read More:

I have had one of these for years now and its still working great - the only critisism is that you may from time to time not get it locked on first time. The only advice I can give is to make sure when you put it on, wiggle the bottle then slide the opener so you can hear that lovely sigh that tells you its airtight. There again, maybe I didnt lock it on properly as I was on my third bottle....
