Vax Spot Scrubber Handheld Carpet Washer I wouldn't be without this item! I have cream carpets, two dogs and a man about the house who sometimes forgets to wipe his feet! You fill the tank with a mixture of water and cleaning fluid and store it in a handy place ready to use when you need it! It's excellent if you spill anything or your pet has an accident. You just set it to the suction mode and firstly remove the liquid/mud from the carpet, then you spray the area with the solution, switch to scrubbing mode and it gently massages the solution into the pile, turn it back to suction mode and it removes all traces of the liquid and the stain! I agree with the worst review of this cleaner. I bought it because of the good reviews on this website ( were they just trying to sell it??)and I sooo regret it! The filter is a pain as described and worse if you accidentally throw it away with the dust it costs £15 to replace so be careful! The flex comes out at the bottom of the cleaner and so tangles up in the wheels. The suction is mega it will pull your carpets off the floor and stick itself to your laminate! Turn it down to a lower setting and it leaves everything behind! Heavy, awkward, don't buy it, I wish I hadn't. Anyone want a 8 month old one???

We have an older vacuum cleaner which had only a normal brush without moving parts. the turbotool fits perfectly on this older vacuum handle making the older model usable again specially for stairs where the Vax unit is too havy, its hose isn't good either when used with the turbotool, it shrinks so much (with the succion) that it gets too stiff to be managed easily. the older vacuum has a different hose which makes it a joy to use the turbotool.

I have 2 dogs and have been so fed up with a mop and bucket - I spend my time changing the water as it gets so filthy and I don't think the floor is ever clean. Keeping the 2 labradors out of rooms I have cleaned & are still wet is always a nightmare. I saw this product on QVC but bought it on Amazon with an extra bottle of cleaning solution for less money. I love this machine! I read a review somewhere else that said it takes a long time, but I have not found that at all - it is quicker for me because as I said before I spent my time changing water. TO SUM UP THIS CLEANER I WOULD SAY IT IS GOOD FOR SMALLER HOMES NOT LARGE HOMES AS THE BATTERY LIFE IS NOT LONG AND IT TAKES AROUND 14 HOURS TO RECHARGE. I FOUND IT REALLY GOOD ON MY WOODEN FLOOR, I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF DIRT THAT CAME OF A FLOOR THAT I THOUGHT WAS CLEAN. BUT I MUST ALSO POINT OUT IT WOULD ONLY DO 1 LARGE ROOM AT A TIME AND THAT IT TAKES TWICE AS LONG AS A CONVENTIONAL MOP. IF YOUVE GOT A SMALL AREA TO CLEAN AND CANNOT MANAGE A CONVENTIONAL MOP I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. BUT IF YOUVE GO A BIG AREA TO CLEAN YOU WILL NEED TO INVEST IN A BETTER QUALITY CLEANER.

I tried this first on the stone tiles in my father's bathroom - very grubby with ground-in dirt, despite constant mopping. This cleaner has lifted the dirt completely and brought these up better than they appeared on moving in - spotless! I did have to wipe round afterwards to remove the grime, but this is a cheaper machine with no vacuuming ability, so I expected that, but it certainly shifted the dirt. I then tried it in the kitchen, where the vinyl flooring was greasy under the cooker and again it made it easy to remove. The floor looks almost like new. The extension tubes don't feel as solid as a vacuum cleaner, but not much pressure is needed as the steam does the work for you. Overall I'm delighted.

I bought this for several reasons, the main one being of course that my carpets desperately needed revitalizing. I had an old Vax that operated as a vacuum and carpet cleaner, but being the type you drag around like a dog on a lead, it drove me mad as apart from having to virtually rebuild it to use it, I had to haul around the cleaner plus miles of tubes and wires wherever I went. As a vacuum it was replaced by a Dyson, and although it was kept for its carpet cleaning aspect, to be honest it's never been out again as can't remember how to set it up. So when I saw this I was attracted by the comments referring to it as small, lightweight and easy to use.
