Kitchen & Housewares : Vax V028PET / Rapide Power Jet Pro Carpet Washer

Bought this vax after comparing lots of other products. The machine is just fantastic, easy to assemble, easy to use, no hassle what so ever, and most of all, it does what it says. I wouldn't say my carpets look brand new, but they definately look clean...and with a puppy going in and out, into the wet muddy garden, they had muddy paw-prints caked on! This vax is also absolutely fantastic at picking up hair. I just wish i'd bought it when we first got the puppy. Can be bought for £119.99 from Comet.

We got this hoover as we thought because of the brand name, and the fairly heavy feel that it would do the job very well.

However, it is without doubt, the worst hoover I have ever used.

It's heavy, but without the power to justify it. It's generally only capable of staying on for 15 minutes at a time, before it needs 30 minutes to cool down - means that if you're trying to hoover the house, you can pretty much leave aside a few hours for it!

The collector plastic "bag" has a hopeless designed filter on it. You have to stop to pull hair and dust out of it, long before the bag section is full. For someone with a dust allergy, like myself, this is horrible - having to pull dust etc out the bag at such close ... Read More:

I just bought this direct from the Morphy Richards UK website at just £44 - I honestly think it must be a mistake or something - this has got to be the best bargain ever - The suction is brilliant - the various heads are brilliant - one for every type of floor and revolving brushes for carpets - there is a huge dust canister - and even a stretch hose for easy stair cleaning - I just can't fault it (though its quite heavy) and for the price they are practically giving it away. i really never thought I would ever get excited about a vacuum cleaner - what's next..

We only ever bought wheeled cylinder cleaners before, and thought we would try an upright bagless cyclone cleaner. At first we were impressed how powerfull it was. But quickly got annoyed with how often we had to wash out the filters, and literally dismantle it to clean all the internal filters and tubes out. Also as said in the review above, when the additional tools are used, the suction is weaker. The hose does not stretch very far before the hoover topples over. For the money you spend,it is not really a good buy...
