brilliant, bit of a ronseal thing going on here, it does do exactly what it specifies. yes, the dust container needs emptying more often but that isnt a bad thing. the suction is such that it actually pulls the lino, yes, i have lino up from the floor in places, its soo powerful. when empty and clean picks up the playmobil and lego bits from my sons floor which are emptied straight back into his toybox. really cool. the filters are washable (dont put them back wet or damp) and the HEPA filter is also washable but just firmly tapping it onto the garden path shows what a phenomenal amount of dust is picked up from the air. even faultless for doing the car. nicely versatile, light and powerful. what more could you want. make your own tea.

I bought the roomba silver after reading reviews, and because it was the cheapest in the range. I hoped that it would help me keep the floor a bit cleaner. This machine is okayish but there are better. The main problem is that the drive seems purpose-designed to eat belts. If you forget to adjust the sweeper height when moving from hard floor to carpet, it just chews straight through the drive belt. So far mine is on number five and when that goes, so does the machine.

I got this little beauty today and I cannot believe I have not had one sooner! 5 years struggling with 3 different dysons which each broke down on numerous occasions and so much frustration. I turned it on and even on low power it out classes the dyson for suction. It has a great number of tools and came with a handy red bag to store them in to carry them round the house with. The suction on both carpet and wooden floors is incredible! It is not too heavy to take upstairs and glides along behind you. So far I can't find any fault with it. If you are debating whether or not to change from the Dyson I would definitely recommend this. It is so much sturdier too.

The foot button lowering mechanism is very weak and often fails. When using the hose, the vacuum cleaner usually tips over as the hose exits the cleaner at the top. Also very noisy with a really annoying high-pitch whine. Picks up dirt well. Nasty, cheap and 'sticky' height adjustment lever. Produces lots of heat when running. Motor has now failed and it's scrap. Wouldn't buy another. Hoover have clearly made a cheap and nasty product that is poorly designed and intended to compete in the 'low cost' end of the market. Stay well clear of this rubbish!
