I have owned this coffee maker for over a year and while I have to agree with the other reviewers that it makes great coffee and is easy to use - it just does not withstand everyday use. The support is very helpful and sent me a new coffee maker after the first one broke, but after another year with the new version of this coffee maker (check out the 2007 model) I now have the electric base being broke the 3rd time. I do use this coffee maker on a daily basis, but still I would assume it to last longer than a year. Support was very helpful, but I do not want to keep asking them for a new part every year... I've had this for 3 years now and we only now have to buy a new 'permanent filter.' It's a great product. Brews quickly, has a reliable timer when you need to wake up to the smell of coffee, and we are very pleased with it. Dishwasher safe as well - bonus.

The actual unit makes good coffee, and it's neat and compact, but the fact that the jug has a plastic lid is its downfall. The "bubble" on top of the lid is the bit that causes the hot water to drain into the jug having been poured through the coffee grains, but this is only attached by tiny pieces of plastic which eventually break. Once one of the sides of the "bubble" comes adrift, then the mechanism no longer works, and the coffee is stuck above the jug! We ordered a replacement jug just before New Year 2007, and are still waiting at the end of May 2008, with no hope of it coming into stock. We have just given up, and have ordered a new coffee maker with a stainless steel lid, and the whole new unit cost just £7 more than the cost of the replacement ... Read More:

Well,............for a long,long,time now i have been looking for a machine that could make "Starbucks" quality espresso's quickly, relatively cheaply, with no mess. That machine is now here.It is solidly built,pretty small,and not really that noisy at all.I got it for Christmas, and it was so good that by 4 o'clock I had drank 9 of the 12 free capsules that came with it. The coffee is as strong as you will ever need,I would know,I like it like treacle.It is also a breeze to adjust the amount that comes out for each of the preset button pushes. The only problem is not really a problem. The capsules can only be bought online,which is a piece of piss really,or in a fancy shop in London Town.They are 23p each, compared to about 19p for the tassimo, senseo, ... Read More:

This machine makes fantastic coffee. It looks great too. I bought it for the office, where the lack of mess is a big bonus. But its the quality of the coffee that you really buy this for. Tip: Nespresso have a deal every so often where they give £30-40 cash back on all their machines. So look out for that. Coffee must be bought either direct from Nespresso, or from Selfridges (don't think anywhere else) Nespresso charge £5 per order, so get as big an order as you can. I bought this through Amazon Marketplace, from InStyle. It came very quickly, and there was a problem with the first one, and they replaced it right away. My only worry: I wish there was a good way to recycle the aluminium capsules.

Another reviewer said this was lazy coffee, and in a way, they were right, but it may be lazy, but its mighty fine. The 'Nespresso' setup is so professional, so easy, and so stylish, it all adds to the image, and thats before you even taste the coffee. I always struggled to get the right taste with standard coffee machines, or struggled to get any consistency with taste, or flavour, but with this machine, its been perfected by experts. I would whole heartedly advise anybody to buy this machine, or for that matter, any nespresso machine. Many thanks nespresso, you just made me like coffee that little bit more.

It's not a skillet - it's a frying pan. A very good one. Nice balance, handle stays cool, non-stick is lasting well. And of course it is nice and heavy anodised aluminium - the best pan material for domestic cooks IMO.
