Kitchen & Housewares : Braun KF550 Aroma Passion Filter Coffee maker

I find the jug does dribble a bit when you pour and what the other people say about the gage etc are true. However, it makes great coffee and keeps it hot in the jug for 2 hours, which is the most important thing for me. I think this coffee maker is worth the money and should not leave you disappointed.

This is a wonderful product - seemingly beautifully designed, clever, innovative, and the coffee it produces is as good as the best I've had in Italy. The problem is, it leaks round the seal, the aluminium discolours and goes grey, you burn your hand on the metal round the handle, and it spills coffee when you pour it. BUT, just try keeping it clean! Unfortunately it can only have been designed by a man who has never tried washing up in his life. It is impossible to clean round the (very) complex centre moulding, and impossible to clean the milk deposits off (and inside) the valve unit. After a while the coffee starts to taste sour, and you'll spend ages trying to scrub all the yukky bits away. Then, after 6 months daily use, the valve on mine just ... Read More:

After reading all the negative points the Brugo mugs got, and reading a recommendation to look at the OXO Liquiseal range, I did so and decided to purchase the OXO instead (for less cost!)

If you simply want a mug (and let's face it, it's a MUG) that:

doesn't leak where ever it's put - at all;
is easy to drink from;
keeps hot drinks hot;
is easy to clean;

then the OXO is your mug - it behaves like a sippable flask. Not sold in many places in the UK, but you can easily find a distributer on the web - it's does what it says on the box, simply and effectively. Bonus is that it looks pretty good too, and easily fits into a car holder.

I was somewhat sceptical about buying this grinder loooking at people's reviews on here, but I'm glad I bought it.

In response to negative points, particularly on the 1* review, I believe there may have been a fault with theirs, I have experienced no such problem with attaching the handle, and the instructions explain how to adjust the grind.

I'm using this primarily for a french press, but I had an experiment as to how fine the grind was to go, and I got it to a very fine grind, that was exceptionally even, ideal for espresso really, particularly for this price. Of course, at that fineness it would take a while, which leads me on to a point about speed.

I use a Kitchenaid Proline grinder at home partnered with my espresso ... Read More:

Designed by idiots for idiots and reviewed bt idiots.I bought 1 of these on the basis of the reviews.First thing to clarify which was missleading is this is a coffee bag - like a tea bag is a tea bag, and its not a pod.
The strength - weakness is a better word was very similat for a 1 cup and 2 cup measure.It was not strong enough,The best cup I made was putting the coffee bag in a cup like a tea bag.What a joke.One up for the marketing people.

It looks good, it makes very nice coffee, BUT!!!! when you come to remove the parts for washing afterwards, it causes coffee drips on your machine, on your breakfast bar, & on the floor!!! Worst of all, it drips down the front of the body of the machine, and if you're not quick enough, it runs between the joint of the main body and the base!! Very poor design fault by such a respected company!!!
The best way to prevent "the mess" is to press a piece of kitchen roll tissue tight against the coffee pourer nozzle as you remove it from the machine. That works!!
