This is my second one, the first one when set to filter poured the contents of the oil all over my kitchen cabinets and floor even though the container was fitted correctly. The second one does the same thing. Its going right back first thing in the morning. Once again Tefal has brought out an item that is over priced and under developed.

I bought this item and absolutely love it. It copes well with portions large enough for two, and everything I've fried in it, breaded fish, chips, fritters and spring rolls have all come out perfectly. It's also easy to clean. Far prefer this to my last large Deep Fat Fryer.

Just received this. I haven't even switched it on and its going back. The big letters on the box read 1.2kg of chips and in smaller letters it reads In 2 fryings. This means its only 0.6kg of food. The fry basket is permanently tilted with a raised dimple on the bottom plate meaning you would have to mess about with the basket contents otherwise half your food would still be raw. The mis-representation of the capacity just proves the point to me that this product is not up to scratch as if it was, then Moulinex would not need to resort to small print in the features.

We were looking for a basic fryer which held at least 3 litres of oil to cook a good quantity of chips at one go. We are well pleased with the results from the DF30. As we use it in a pantry beside our kitchen we were not bothered by the fact that it does not have a filter (we just leave the outside door open to let the steam out!)It is actually 2.25kw and I like the "Cool zone technology" which means that crumbs that fall through the basket drop down below the element and don't burn on the bottom of the pan. You may be interested to know that the lid must be removed during cooking and is only used as a dust cover when not in use. A very good fryer if you have the space!

Good fryer, decent size to ensure it will feed a family of four with a single use. No problems with overflowing as other review. Keep oil at recommended temperature, removing water/ice from food and do not overfill the basket, as you would do with all fryers, and you will enjoy this product. Four stars because the lid sometimes opens when lifting the basket - locking mechanism could use some attention.
