Good fryer, decent size to ensure it will feed a family of four with a single use. No problems with overflowing as other review. Keep oil at recommended temperature, removing water/ice from food and do not overfill the basket, as you would do with all fryers, and you will enjoy this product. Four stars because the lid sometimes opens when lifting the basket - locking mechanism could use some attention.

n.b. The Amazon photo is currently showing the `Le Creuset' 20 cm `omelette pan`! The 26 cm fry pan looks quite different and it might be worth a look at Le Creuset's own web-site for the correct item, before purchasing at this excellent price, on Amazon, today. Saying that, the 26 cm non-stick fry pan is exceptionally good and does have `an assist handle`, for ease of use - but don't forget your oven gloves! `Offering all the qualities of durable, enamelled cast iron which has excellent heat retaining properties, and incorporating the unique qualities of `Le Creuset' triple layer non-stick surface. Suitable for all cooker types/easy care/dishwasher safe.'

Contrary to the other positive reviews, I found these pans to lose their non-stick after about a year. They are admittedly very sturdy, heavy and good at heat distribution but when I contacted Meyer to claim under their lifetime guarantee that there must be a fault with my pans, they returned them to me and blamed me for anything from using 'excessive heat' to 'not washing them properly'. I followed their instructions to the letter, and I am disgusted by their avoidance of fulfilling their guarantee. I had two Analon pans that have been outperformed by a cheap IKEA skillet bought at the same time. I will never buy from Meyer again, as their customer service was so shockingly bad. Having used this item I filled it with soapy water and put it on my ceramic hob on high to boil clean proceeding to do something else I left the pan not only to boil dry but to continue to sizzle on my hob. When I eventually returned over half an hour later to a kitchen of white smoke I believed that both the pan and cooker would be ruined.... My ceramic hob was unmarked and after some TLC on the pan that too was undamaged - what a fantastic item.....any lesser pan would have just melted or set alight - and the non-stick coating is as good as new! Highly recommended!!

I have an older Anolon anodised griddle pan. It's about three years old and the coating has started to really come off a lot. I returned it to Meyer, the importers, under the 'lifetime guarantee', which they saw fit not to honour as I had, apparently, being cooking at too high a heat. As I do use a griddle pan to sear with, I do use a high heat, so fair enough. Just be aware that this pan is unlikely to welcome being used at high heats: (the ones sometimes associated with the term 'cooking'...?..).
