Mostly this item is cute. It does suck up crumbs as well, although the power isn't that high so it takes a while. The casing is more robust than I thought it would be, and it's smaller than I expected it to be.

Bought this and took it back after one day - the main problem is that I am 5'10" and I found that the hose wasn't long enough for me, even when fully extended. I was getting back ache in just a few minutes due to leaning over because of the short hose. My other half is 6'3" so had more of a problem. The other issues are that I felt it was flimsy, that it didn't pick up too well on a carpet (tho good on hard floors) and had a small capacity. We bought the Bosch BSG71266GB instead which is £50 cheaper and found it instantly better.

I bought this today from Comet - £5 cheaper than Amazon and no waiting. I took it home, assembled it (ie. attached the kneading paddle), washed it, 2 minutes with warm water. Added 150ml of water, 250g of Seeded bread mix from Tesco. I set the program pressed GO and 3h 45m later was eating slices of my first ever home baked loaf. Easy peazy! And it cost about 50p, counting electricity and the mix. Now to try it with the raw ingredients. And then add some seeds. And then maybe some pizza dough... It really is simple to use although criticisms about the LCD screen angle and the basket are valid. In my case the problem was the basket being too tight and very hard to get out. Second I found that by trying to blend while cooking in a pan the plastic cutter shield softened, so distorted while I was moving it around the pan. I was to some extent able to bend it back, but not fully. Third, the apertures in the cutter shield get blocked very easily, so you have to keep stopping to fish things out.

It is really diffucult to find correct position for cans. Looks nice but extremely difficult to use. If you have space in your kitchen you can buy as a decorative item but not as a can opener. Do not waste your money...

this item is brill i have never had a kenwood chef befor but i work in a bakery and my boss recomended the kenwood chef seris to me because i was on a budget and this is a brilliant buy the machine is a little nosie but u can still hold a convosation over it with no trouble we have had one at work and it has lasted for 10 years so far and we use it at least 6 times a day even more sumtimes but if u are cak handed like me you might wont to tack to splash gard off its just easyer and the atechments are easy to change and it is so easy to clean every thing so bot reject it because of the price save up and buy this machine its the best mixer i have ever had p.s sorry about the spelling
