Beautiful to look at. Good size, great shape. The glass dome is big and is light in weight. Glass dome material is very thin and I am so afraid of shattering it when putting it over the cake plate. I guess it will be fine if one wants it to look pretty on display but to be actually lifting the dome & putting it down again ... hmmm.... Better to see and feel the actual item in John Lewis etc. first before buying it !! I should have done that !

I bought this as a replacement for the Salter 1600 which uses the same accurate strain-gauge measuring engine. The Salter 3003 wins hands down over the 1600, because it uses proper push buttons, and weighs ingredients up to 5kg not a mere 3kg. While not quite instant, the 3003 has a good and well-damped response, you don't have to hang about waiting for the reading to stabilise while adding ingredients. It is not cluttered up with silly menu systems or redundant features found on some others we looked at. It is simple and intuitive to use, quick and accurate. What more do you need from a kitchen scale?

As somebody who has bought so many items for the kitchen and then ended up allowing them to collect dust due to non-use because they were the in thing at the time. I was a little dubious about purchasing yet another gadget which after a few months will get binned because I cant be asked to spend ages cleaning the damn thing after use.(I dont mind spending ages preparing the food, but cleaning???) Well flatten my feet and call me Daffy This must be one of the easiest things to clean. I usually wash down the whole thing in minutes prior to eating. On that alone Im sold. Ill let the other reviewers inform you about how good it cooks.

works well, giving light soft mash with no lumps. Came with 3 inserts but no instructions, so pot luck to use the right insert for the right food...still, gave me a lovely smooth mash. You need to have reasonably strong hands to use it, and the first time i tried I got quite a lot of mash all over myself and the worksurface, but on the whole, perfectly decent.

We looked long and hard at the food processors available and it's fair to say that the more we looked, the harder it was to decide. So, we searched by the main criteria, which were large bowl and small footprint, and that narrowed the choice dramatically - still a lot to choose from but at least the dual action processors where the liquidiser and bowl can be used simultaneously were eliminated. Then it was down to name / build quality, then price. The Kenwood name solves the quality angle and a mooch around revealed a price of £69.99 at Comet, which is a very good price indeed.
