I don't understand how so many other reviewers have found this works as well as they say it does. Only one other person describes having the problems I have with this. Unless you chose to slice the bread very thick, the slices tear as they try to get out through the curved exit. I only bought it to slice my own stoneground wholemeal bread and it is not a success.

I bought this kettle about a month ago but it was the white plastic version. I must say I have been extremely pleased with it so far. It does just what it says on the tin; it boils quickly and very quietly (one of the quietest kettles I have used and a great improvement on the previous Krups kettle I had, which sounded like a jet taking off; the spout is quite large and it pours well; it is easy to fill and the the water volume window is easy to see and read (and gently illuminated during boiling). All in all a very good, practical kettle. Just what you want. I'd buy one again on this initial evidence.

I spent a long time looking for a light for my toilet, there is no mains electric in said toilet so I went through several 'innovative' lighting solutions and this one is the only one that illuminates the whole room, stays where I fit it and lasts a long time. It even has a motion sensor so you don't have to touch it which is good for a toilet I guess. Not sure how it would cope with a conventional bathroom with steam and water around but an absolute must for separate toilet, cupboard under the stairs, sheds, or any small dark room which you want to illuminate. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and I cannot express enough how happy I am with this product. Highly recommend.

The first reviewer wrote that he had difficulty getting replacement parts. I took his advice and checked for parts (in particular the belt. I tried a good supplier who could not find a replacement belt. I purchased another make instead with plenty of parts available. Buyer be really aware with this product
