Took this book on our second visit to Lanzarote - and wished we'd had it first time round! It was very helpful and much more informative than the guide we used before. Great restaurant info. We discovered some really nice new spots. The Fuerteventura chapter gave us just enough in the way of ideas for us to plan a quick side trip over there. We had fun but now understand why there's only the one Fuerte chapter in the book - Lanza is just SO much nicer (sorry Fuerte fans!!!)

More detail and accuracy than any other map I've seen of the island. Don't drive in Lanzarote without it.

We loved this map - the detail is excellent. Whether you're exploring Lanzarote in a hire car, on foot or by bike it's incredibly useful - and we loved the fact that it refused to fall apart, no matter how badly we treated it! All we took with us to plan our trip was this and the Rough Guide (Lanzarote Directions by Emma Gregg) - which is brilliant too - and we had a great time, with lots of off-the-beaten-track adventures!

We loved this map - the detail is excellent. We always buy guide books for a place before going on holiday, and usually only actually make use of a few pages once we get there. This book was different - it was accurate, relevant, interesting and a constant reference. We followed driving and walking tours in it which were accurately detailed and showed us things we wouldn't have otherwise seen/noticed. Will always look for books from this series in future.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday in Lanzarote, and really glad we bought this book, and the accompanying map before we went. The walks take you to parts of the island you would never see by road, and gives you the confidence to explore without wondering whether or not you are going somewhere you shouldn't be. There are 32 routes in all, of varying lengths and difficulty, all very well explained. Don't be put off with the authors' pre-occupation with GPS - we don't have one, and using the map sections in the book, and following the very clear route descriptions, we never had any problems finding the paths. Well worth getting the Lanzarote map which is a companion to the book, as it helps to plan which walks ... Read More:

How dare they call Lanzarote uncultural and hedonistic? It is not the island that is uncultural and hedonistic but the badly educated common tourists that travel there and remain in their small enclaves of english larger louts and retired, beer bellied, uncultured, not speaking a word of Spanish and loud British citizens. I grew up in Lanzarote and excluding certain tourist destinations (Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca and Playa del Carmen) it is a stunning island with very friendly laid back people. If people decide to stay for 7 nights in their villa surrounded by blackboards that tell us proudly that they serve English fried breakfasts at 2 euros (in 30 degree heat) then very well, but please don't judge a stunning volcanic island that has produced ...
