Going Native in Catalonia [Catalunya] Although we didn't spend much time in Palma, I found the information in this book to be very reliable. We spent a couple of weeks in Soller (on the other side of Mallorca) and made trips to Deià and Valldemossa. The Rough Guide to Mallorca was a handy companion at all times and did, in fact, lead me to discover some more than half-decent bars. I also liked some of the (slightly sarcastic) comments on the tourist areas and found the historical background sections to be very useful.

Very helpful regarding the walk details and parking but it gives the impression of the walk have been written up after the walk rather than during it as we found several instances when we just could not follow the directions. The best time for flowers and birds is late April early May and without the book we could not have enjoyed such a good walking holiday.

A great book to take away with you on holiday as it is very informative but compact enough to pack in you hand luggage.

I have used several Sunflower books on Spring/Autumn holidays in the Med area and they always give interesting walks close to the main tourist areas. Menorca was not one of my favourites, partly because the public transport did not work very well though it may be better if you intend to hire a car.The coastal walking was good but not outstanding and some of the inland walking was on dusty roads and a bit dull. Majorca is much better.
