Music : Voulez Vous
I really wasn't sure about this album when it was released. In fact I didn't buy it until a few years later. What were Abba thinking of going all disco? Well, the album has grown on me greatly even if I still don't think it is quite up to the standard of the albums that came either side of it.
This album does include a lot of hit songs and you can't deny the quality of songs like 'Chiquitita' and 'I Have A Dream', but the relentless beat of the 'disco' hits does wear a bit. 'Does You Mother Know', 'Voulez Vous' and 'Angel Eyes' would be seen as fantastic selections from any other groups back catalogue, but with Abba's standards these songs are lesser highlights of a glittering recording career.
The good thing about this album is ... Read More:

96.Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 by: ABBA
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Greatest Hits, Vol. 2
This appeared for Christmas '79, by which time Arrival, The Album, and Voulez Vous had yielded enough hits to make it viable. It's an odd collection: the rocky 'Rock Me' was an unknown pre-Eurovision song, and wasn't a hit single here; the contemporary singles I Have a Dream and Voulez Vous were omitted, presumably so people would continue buying the Voulez Vous album (which was only ~6 months old at the time).
Why 5 tracks from The Album? 'Eagle' is one of their best-known non-singles, 'Thank you for the music' and the 2 number 1s are obvious choices, but 'The Album''s 'I Wonder' is, like some of its other album tracks, somewhat lacklustre, in my view, compared to the faultlessly energetic powerpop of the albums before and after it. To represent Abba's ... Read More:
