Since I've heard "The Visitors" for the first time it became my favoutite album and it remains so heretofore. The lead-in chords of the opening song captured me forever and I still remember that unbelievable feeling of touch with the Great. And I recall this sence every time when listening to this album. From ABBA's official site: "The Visitors was first released in Sweden on November 30, 1981. Recording sessions began in March 1981 and continued until November 1981. ABBA's eighth and final album was their very bleakest, but has emerged as a favourite among many of the group's hardcore fans. Well, being besotted with ABBA I decided to buy this a few months back. After being "wowed" by the synopsis. This first thing I noticed was the front cover of the DVD which has a lovely picture of ABBA that I had never seen before, I though "Oh, this looks promising". Unfortunately it wasn't that good. It was just hours of very short clips of ABBA hits, followed by very long clips of people you wouldn't know droning "On and On and On" (See what I did there, ABBA reference). They would proceed to rip apart ABBA songs lyric by lyric, cord by cord. It wasn't very nice. These people wouldn't know a classic if it came up to them and hit them square in the face. Abba had a tendency to produce well written songs, most of them becoming party anthems or songs you sing when you are absolutely brain dead on alcohol. This album is very different to the others, compare it to Voulez Vous or Super Trouper and it may as well be an album by the Cheeky Girls. 1. Eagle It's not a good idea to have the best song on the album up first, it makes the rest of the album seem meaningless and a waste of studio time. (10/10) 2.
