This album is a much more consistent affair than Abba's first album 'Ring Ring'. The title track will be known by everyone as the 1974 Eurovision winner, but there are several other excellent Abba compositions in this collection. 'Honey Honey' was a US hit and 'Hasta Manana' and 'Dance (Whilst The Music Still Goes On)could easily have become Abba classics had they been released as singles in the UK. 'Gonna Sing You My Love Song' is a beautiful ballad sung by Frida whilst 'My Mama Said' provides an early glimpse of the disco sound that would evolve in 1979 on their album 'Voulez Vous'. A much better collection than 'Ring Ring', but the best was yet to come.

Yes, this is the very first ABBA album and it actually contains many stories for every song. For example, Disillusion is written by Agnetha & Björn (his only contribution being the lyrics, as usual) and is the English version of her romantic Mina Ögon solo song. Beautiful song #2 would be I Am Just a Girl, another gentle ballad which shows ABBA's great potential early on before Waterloo glory days. Another Town (they should re-issue this album with the rare German version of this song) is a slow, enjoyable song about departures and the emotions behind it(?), and I Saw It In the Mirror would be the fourth easygoing song, and in my opinion, the first minute of it is the worst rubbish ever to come from ABBA. Despite sometimes maddeningly simple lyrics, the song arrangements were unnervingly catchy and the multi-level layered compositions are fascinating. The keyboards and synthesizers were used in some of the more ingenious ways during the seventies to produce that unmistakable ABBA sound.
