Dave Frishberg played with Al Cohn for a long time and made a wonderful album in the late 70s with Cohn and Bob Brookmeyer [You're a Lucky Guy]. Dave often commends Al Cohn in his liner notes so, on the basis that if one of the best musicians in jazz looks up to Al Cohn, I ordered this. Delightful. Cohn and Brookmeyer are a perfect match, the tunes are well chosen and the playing is incomparable. A little like unexpected sunshine in January - bright, welcome, changes your mood but is still definitely on the cool side. A record to make you feel good all day, and the facsimile album cover and 'record label' disc are an extra treat.
