An average album let down by a very weak production - a few good songs but nothing in the same class as Master Of Puppets or Reign In Blood.
1988's State Of Euphoria & 1990's Persistence Of Time are FAR superior despite lacking the iconic status of this vastly overrated 1987 effort.

Very mid tempo with a tinny drum sound and thin guitars - not this band's finest hour...........

After their slightly patchy debut album and a change in personel, Anthrax's secnd album is undeniably a classic of the thrash genre. Most fans will point to 'Among the Living' as the band's defining moment, but it's really hard to find any fault with this 1985 offering, as from the opening moments of 'A.I.R.' the album spews out a seemingly endless collection of killer riffs, while new vocalist Joe Bellandonna's melodic vocals provide numerous catchy choruses. 'Spreading the Disease' ranges from such relatively melodic songs as the insanely catchy 'Medusa' and 'Lone Justice', which at times sounds almost Iron Maiden-ish, to the full on thrash of tracks like 'Gung-Ho' and 'Aftershock'. The band themselves have at times stated a despair at being unable ... Read More:

Genre defining? Slightly irrelevant now like all 80's "Thrash" reviews (I know this is a 1990 release) Metallica, Megadeth, testament, Exodus, Atheist, fook the name dropping this album rocks, it is great I love it, if you do too, then fookin A! Joey realises his vocal apex, (no Warblin).
Interesting riffs, quite progressive (only because the tracks are more then 5 minutes long)

Try it, if you don't like it, it should have only cost you a fiver so sell it a a boot fair.

Anthrax, Attack of the Killer B's - Back in 1991, Anthrax released the album "Attack Of The Killer B's" that featured unreleased material and B-Sides that were recorded over the band's past three-and-a-half years. Some of the material was released on "Penikufesesin", an E.P. available in Europe and Japan. Some of the tracks were recorded specifically for the album's release, and some of the tracks are just previously unreleased obscure tracks.

The album was compiled and released to enable fans to hear all the hard to find tracks that are mentioned from time to time on the music scene.

The album is a must-buy for any fan of Anthrax, containing twelve tracks that you will struggle to hear any other way.

This album is Anthrax doing something different. Usually i enjoy it when a band goes a different route (Motley Crue 94, Def Leppard Slang, Metallica's Load) but this album is full of poor Nu Metal songs.

I don't know about you, but when I want to hear anthrax I want to hear some real singing (no grunty nu metal stuff), some catchy songs and Thrash Metal!

None of that is on this album, it's a band trying to fit in with the times which unfortunatly sounds weak (well to my ears). Its a real shame because this lineup was great live.

2008 I'm waiting for their new album hoping that the new guy can actually sing so we don't get this kind of crap again.

I Admit there's about 3 good songs on the album but there isnt much ... Read More:

The price is cheap but songs like I am the Law, Caught in a Mosh and Indians which are really some of the thrax's best. The cd is saved a little by AIR, bring the noise (best rap/rock collaboration ever) and anti-social. To get the best from anthrax get their other greatest hits with all their best tracks on or The Greater OF Two Evils (remasters album) although that doesn't have any public enemy collaborations. Also If you ever get the chance, as seen at Download festival 2005, they are one of the best live bands in the world so go and see them

When Metallica released Kill 'em all in 1983 it took the world by storm and started a new revolution of sound. This album followed a year later and was greatly in the style of Kill 'em All.
It is raw in its sound and has Niel Turbin on Vocals and bassist Dan Liker (later the bassist for Nuclear Assault & S.O.D.).
It is not generally listed as the bands classic years (Spreading the Disease through to Persistance of time) due to the absense of Joey Belladonna but is definetely a classic first and is a classic album in the bigger picture of the early days of thrash metal. For fans of Metallica's Kill 'em All this is a recommended buy. Play the two back to back to re-live the early raw sound that first exploded on the Heavy Metal scene back in the 83/84. Just ... This was the first anthrax album I ever bought way back when it was released and still to this day it is one of my favourite metal albums. It STOMPS all over the place.

The songs are excellent with great heavy riffs and John Bush's vocals are superb. Best tracks on here are only, Hy Pro Glo but the rest are excellent.

Can't believe they reunited with Joey Balladonna. Bush is a better frontman and Anthrax were a better band with him

There are only fifteen tracks on here (as apposed to 30 on ‘No Hit Wonders') and the cover and packaging overall is very cheap-looking. My copy inexplicably started skipping on Got The Time and Bring The Noise after a few months of owning it (puzzling, since, no matter how hard I look, I can’t see any damage to the disc at all). Getting ‘No Hit Wonders’ to replace it, wish I hadn’t bothered with this – it’s going in the bin!
