Making a second album was never going to be an easy thing for Arcade Fire, Funeral was possibly the worst type of debut album a band could make being that it was absolutely amazing and possibly the best album of the last 20 years. The logical thing to do after making an album that good is to realise it's impossible for you to top it and just not even try...luckily this is not what Arcade Fire do. The band fully realise they can't ever make another Funeral, so instead of trying to make Funeral Part 2, the band instead decide to head in a different musical direction. ...there was this EP. And a fantastic EP it was too. Sure, 1 or 2 of the tracks aren't amazing, but the original version of 'No Cars Go' (better than the later album version IMO) and the astonishingly good pairing of 'Headlights Look Like Diamonds' and 'Vampire/Forest Fire' (Best Arcade Fire track ever IMO) lift the EP up from 'good' to 'excellent'

This song seems longer than it is, but I mean this in a good way, on a first listen I wasnt a fan but it grows and grows on you, if you don't dig the arcade fire in general because you like something a bit louder, this is your song. I really suggest you get this single before it gets deleted I expect one day it'll be very valuable and unobtainable.

I bought this single (well, the US Merge Records version, as it was cheaper and was presented better) and found it to be surprisingly lovely. It goes well with their EP and album, and is also great for collectors of rare vinyls. The presentation of this 7" is also very good, as is the US version. The flip is even better in my opinion, with a cover of the Bob Russell tune Brazil. Overall, a decent buy.
