I've had this album since it was first released. I would say that it has got to be one of the dozen or so essential albums in any popular music lovers collection, and in this expanded version is a must buy.
My fellow reviewers have given you the details, I just advise you to do yourselves a big favour & add this to your collection, I promise you won't be disappointed.

The Byrds along with The Velvet Underground the most underrated band of the 60s. The Byrds probably the founding fathers of Psychedelia, mixing folk, country and psychedlic rock makes them one of the most influential bands of all time.
Starting With Mr Tambourine Man one of the finest covers of all time, with a fantastic guitar riff, Turn,Turn,Turn and brilliant riff as well and one of my favourite Byrd Songs, and ofcourse the unmistakable Eight Miles High one of the finest Psychedelic songs of all time, Featuring Dave Crosby and Roger McGuinn recognisable 12 string guitar maes the Byrds in my view just as important and influential as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and the Kinks, this is just a brilliant Compilation.

Its always an absolute treat to find a drum n bass album that is consistently great from start to finish - and Danny Byrd has treated us to just that. For old skool drum n bass lovers there are those amazing amen breaks - just like the good old days! Mixed with this are classy vocals, interesting samples, outstanding production... just listen to it as loud as you can. It feels current and classic at the same time, combining the best from classic Bukem, EZ Rollers, and Moving Shadow through to High Contrast and London Elektricity. Even some touches reminiscent of the good parts of Pendulum (before they forgot what drum 'n' bass should be and tried to become a rock band..)
I can't rate it highly enough, it makes me grin like an idiot every time I play it. ... Read More:

A truly enjoyable performance by The Sixteen. These 2 masses presented on these CD's are both moving and distinctively conducted by Harry Christophers. You must buy this if you are into Renaissance Masses especially with many Voices. You won't regret this!

Make sure you listen before you buy, and be sure these are the kind of performances you want. Because although other reviews rave about this, I remain unconvinced.

Mind you, these comments only apply to the first of the two CDs. I haven't heard the second and can't comment.

But I was taken aback by the interpretations on CD1, some of which sound positively Victorian - slushy, wobbly and tonally wooden. And there are some vocal infelicities that simply should not have got past the editing process.

Take the Mozart: even in the first two bars - just the instrumental intro - there's a slushy rit (the first of many!), a sudden accelerando and another rit just before the choral entry. Where does Mozart ask for this? It might have ... Read More:

Notorious Byrd Brothers is perhaps best known for the internal rivalry between the band members and the sacking of David Crosby mid-recording. This is the album where individual differences found their voice and the band started to fall apart (although the seeds were sown on the previous album). Notorious seems to benefit from this fracturing of the band's spirit, it is an album of immense beauty; it is melodic and warm, yet clothed in a more wary and questioning outlook on the world. The melancholy that i argue exists in most of the band's work has come to the fore, and prevails in an album that is uneasy and moody; it's relaxing yet slightly dark, innocence ('Dolphin's smile') does battle with scepticism ('Draft Morning', sleepy melodies are punctuated by guitar ... Whilst not a huge Byrds fan at the time I like the other reviewer saw the 1971 tour. Quite simply the concert was one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

This is an album that I came to fairly late (in relative terms), having heard DJ Jazzy Jeff use elements of 'Change (Makes You Want To Hustle)' and 'Places And Spaces' in the track 'A Touch Of Jazz'. Having liked the short pieces Jeff used it was relatively easy to find out what the tracks were and this naturally led to wanting to hear more of Donald Byrd. That eventually led me to this album.

This is Jazz-Funk at its very best, and as other reviewers have indicated, the production work of the Mizzel Brothers stands out. Jazz purists might be tempted to scoff at the notion of this strange hybrid, a fusion of Jazz, Funk and other elements of popular Black music, but for listeners seeking 'the groove' this album will draw you in through its sheer listenability and standard of musicianship. 'Dominoes', ... Read More:

I had long assumed that The Byrds had used up all their ammo once Clark, Crosby and then Hillman had left. This 1970 set proves otherwise. Jim McGuinn built a great new band around him, with Clarence White's fabulous, incendiary playing on the live half of the original album a highlight. Gene Parsons and Skip Battin, meanwhile, provide a restless and inspired rhythm section, which is as important to keeping the 16-minute version of 'Eight Miles High' on fire as the guitar interplay. In addition, McGuinn had several great songs left over from an aborted musical he'd collaborated on. The best of these are the live 'Lover On The Bayou' which opens the album and the studio cut, 'Chestnut Mare' which features more wonderful work from White.
The song quality isn't consistent but the playing is. What makes this ... Read More:
