I bought this 12 months ago as a digital download so was baffled when amazon wrote asking me to order an advance copy. It was probably one of the best records I have had for ages and this is sadly not an extended version. Cibelle lives in that strange bohemian space that Coco Rosie, Nina Nastasia, and Cat Power drift in and out of, the beautiful set of songs are set in shimmering gold with her cover of Waits's Green Grass.. check out her contribution to Electric Gypsyland 2 as well

Please beware! As good and charming as this album is, it is not another Tanto Tempo. The comparisons with Bebel Gilberto may hold some water vocally, but musically this whole album is closer to Smoke City's "Heroes of Nature", as an eclectic mix of sounds from modern Brasil. If you want something that has Tanto Tempo's wondrously laid back feel, try the very classy album "Natural" by Celso Fonseca which is also from the Ziriguiboom/Crammed Discs stable. Cibelle by all accounts comes from the same circle of Musicians/Artists/Engineers as Celso, Bebel, Katia B and Suba who have produced some of the most stunnning and remarkable albums of Brasilian Music in recent years, and she hasn't failed to keep up with them.
