My knowledge of classical music is not so advanced, but it is a breed of music you must learn to appreciate if you get what I mean. I am to keen to expand my knowledge of classical music, so buying this album is a great starting point. Classical music is a breed of music which existed long time ago and is really old fashioned, but a real pleasure to listen to. It is very much instrumental orientated. You can hear the piano, violin or the flute with their distinctive sounds in the background. I would recommend this CD to everyone who's welsh,once you listen to it you'll know what i mean,especially Ar Lan Y Mor and Myfanwy.Every time I listen to it I think of home,of the beach and of the beautiful countryside.ADD IT TO YOUR COLLECTION.

This music is just so beautiful it takes your breath away. The film was OK but this music is haunting. You must buy this CD and listen to it.

This album is lovely. I originally purchased it as I am a long standing fan of the voice of Juliette Pochin (see alsoVenezia) Juliette sings some lovely tracks...and she and her co -producer James Morgan have done a fantastic job helping to create this masterpiece of words and music. I find it very difficult to find one track as a favourite...they all have their own special place in a fine collection of uplifting listening. This album will be a firm favourite in my collection.

Every year at this time Classic FM bring out a new triple CD set - and this year's is even better than the ones that have come before. I didn't think they'd be able to better "Time to Relax", which was last year's album - but they have! And they've done it in some style too by choosing music from their evening programme "Smooth Classics at Seven", which is presented by the legendary John Brunning. I can't recommend this album enough. And it does just what it says on the box. I've got my copy in the car at the moment - it's perfect as an antidote to a journey from Hull to Manchester on the M62 every morning. This Cd is well worth buying. Firstly it is excellent value for a double disc with over 2 and a half hours of music.The sound is superb and the varition is well mixed and suited. Highlight of this album for me are the haunting and divine Due Tramonti by Ludovico Einaudi (a genius!), a new choir arrangement of Barber's masterpiece Adagio for strings, Chopin's Nocturn Op.72/1 (as featured in 1 of last years best films "The Pianist"). Other highlights come from Arvo Part, Mascagni and Satie. Featured performers include Lesley Garrett, the Philharmonica Orchestra, Trinity College Choir. A fantastic album at a fantastic price, well worth getting, putting your feet up and relaxing and enjoying the beautiful music.

The song I assume everyone below is talking about - the one they heard on TV- is Oltre la Tempesta... what a song! It is one of the finest tenor arias I have very heard. Licitra and Alvarez have brought classical music to a new, modern audience. Hair raising songs like Maria and Fantasma D'amore are two of the best examples. Perfectly untied voices and a unique track of songs make this one of the best Tenor albums in my collection. If you are reading this and doin't own this CD... BUY IT NOW!!!
