This is one of the few albums that can be classed as a masterpiece. From the perfectly crafted album opener 'I Looked Away' to the evocative 'Bell Bottom Blues', the powerful blues of 'Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out' to the great riff on 'Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad', the masterly Hendrix cover 'Little Wing' and of course the song that never loses it's power 'Layla', this album has so many gems and brilliant tracks it is hard to know where to begin. 'Layla' sounds so powerful, especially sitting amidst the other tracks on this album, and on reflection it really does adhere to the 'timeless' label heaped on lesser songs. Pete and Dud, sometime in the early seventies, mutated into Derek and Clive, a pair of Tory-voting, heavy-drinking, football-loving toilet attendants who have an opinion on everything, think the world's gone mad and are deeply embarrassed by women. For Derek and Clive, everything went downhill after the death of Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. Well, whilst I don't think this is the best of the three recordings made of Derek & Clive, it still deserves five stars. It also contains the best sketch, The Critics!! As everyone else has said, this isn't for the faint hearted. It's vile at time, cringeworthy, totally un-pc and such a refreshing change from todays stadium comedians. Not to be listened to within earshot of anyone with heart condition as they either have a heart attack from the content or die laughing. Not for kids, conservatives, prudes or you nan. Nonetheless, Derek & Clive are pure punk comedy gold. God rest their soles and our soles!!

From the mid-1930s on Anderson was encouraged and his music was played frequently by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops. It wasn't long before his music was being played by practically every ensemble in the country. One of his pieces, 'Blue Tango', even topped the popular hit parade for almost four months in the early 1950s. This is Eric Clapton at his very, very best. Miss this at your peril! Great songs, great band, great solos. I always preferred EC's Domino phase, closely followed by Cream. This and the deleted "In Concert" are superb gigs from that era.

This DVD is excellent in every respect. The music is great (of course - Trucks is the new slide guitar genius, and the band are well capable of keeping up with him). The set list reflects the best that this band has to offer - it's much more than Trucks' Songlines album. Check out the John Coltrane/John Schofield-inspired version of Greensleeves! The sound quality is absolutly superb (better than previous live recordings of this band in my view). The gig has been filmed well, with lots of close-in camera angles which allow us to join in the musical interplay within the band. And there are some nice interviews with the band as an extra. Every fan of slide guitar and musicianship should have this disc in their collection.
